Anybody with mild to moderate symptoms can go for a COVID-19 test at these private hospitals in Abu Dhabi.

MEDEOR HOSPITAL ABU DHABI

Medeor is one of the leading medical centres in Abu Dhabi to sign up for COVID-19 PCR tests in the capital. Located in Al Manhal Street, Medeor has a capacity to test 3,500 persons daily.

MEDICLINIC AL NOOR HOSPITAL

One of the top hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital is another place to get tested for COVID-19 in the city. Located on Khalifa Street, the hospital offers testing facilities for staff or school pupils as well as to others with known symptoms of the disease. You can get a report within 24 hours of the test.

Another branch of Mediclinic that has been offering testing facilities in Abu Dhabi is located on Airport Road. You can come for a test without a prior appointment. The testing centre is nestled in Building F.

CAPITAL HEALTH CENTRE DRIVE-THROUGH COVID SCREENING

Part of Mubadala’s network of medical facilities, Capital Health also offers COVID-19 tests in Abu Dhabi. Their drive-through screening process is quite simple. Show your Emirates ID at the registration booth, proceed towards the swabbing both for the screening, and get your result within 24 to 48 hours via SMS.

Individuals aged 12-years-old and above can get tested here; however, priority will be given to those who have booked prior appointments.

SEHA DRIVE-THROUGH COVID-19 TESTING CENTRES

The Department of Health (Abu Dhabi), in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), has opened drive-through testing facilities for COVID-19 in the capital city. At these facilities, residents can get tested within five minutes and get results via an SMS or through the SEHA app. While Zayed Sports City was the first drive-through testing facility in Abu Dhabi, others have also been set up over time.

Here is a list of the centres for the drive-through Covid test in Abu Dhabi. Please note that the list also comprises the three new centres built in the emirate by SEHA.

LIWA, SILA AND DALMA DRIVE-THROUGH TESTING CENTRES

SEHA has recently set up three drive-through COVID-19 testing centres in Abu Dhabi. Each of them features two tracks. One is for nasal swabs while the other caters to DPI laser-based testing. They have a capacity of 100 laser tests and 500 nasal swabs per day.

1. There could be variations in timings compared to Google’s listings and SEHA’s latest updates so make sure to call the facility beforehand.
2. As per the SEHA’s recent announcement, COVID-19 testing centres in Abu Dhabi will now remain open from Sunday to Friday.

The cost of COVID-19 PCR tests is AED 65 across all healthcare facilities in the emirate, with the only exception for express services. Those who want to obtain results within one-two hours must pay 350.

Rizek is a first-of-its-kind, non-healthcare app in Abu Dhabi that offers an at-home PCR testing facility in the capital city. Widely known for booking personal and household services, the app is now approved by the UAE government for on-demand testing in the region.

WHAT ARE THE APPS THAT YOU CAN USE TO GET COVID-19 UPDATES AT HOME?

SEHA APP

Launched by SEHA, the UAE’s largest clinical network, SEHA App is a one-stop solution for those who want to get the latest news and updates of COVID-19 at home. The app even helps you book an appointment for the COVID-19 screening.

ALHOSN APP

It is the official app launched by the Ministry of Health and Prevention to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the UAE. By using this app, you can get the results of your screening test directly on the phone. It also alerts you if the people you have come in contact with have tested positive, given that they too have this app downloaded on their phone. The AlHosn app is available for residents as well as visitors.

COVID TEST TO ENTER ABU DHABI: PROTOCOLS FOR VACCINATED/ NON-VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

Travellers must follow the new screening protocol for vaccinated people released by Abu Dhabi’s Health Department:

• Vaccinated people who are coming from the green-listed countries will require a PCR test on arrival followed by another one on the sixth day. They are not required to remain in quarantine for five days. The countries that are a part of the Abu Dhabi Green List* include:

• Vaccinated travellers arriving from non-green countries must get tested on arrival, as well as on the fourth and eighth day. They are not required to quarantine themselves.

RULES FOR UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS

• Unvaccinated travellers arriving from green countries must take PCR test on arrival and again on day sixth and day twelfth. They do not need to quarantine, however, they must isolate themselves unless they receive a negative PCR result on landing.
• Unvaccinated individuals arriving from other countries must get tested on arrival, remain in quarantine for ten days and undergo a PCR test on the ninth day.

RULES FOR UNVACCINATED UAE GOVERNMENT WORKERS

In the line of rules updated by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, government workers who are not vaccinated must:

• Undergo a COVID-19 test twice in a month.
• Pay for the tests themselves unless they provide medical proof exempting them from getting a vaccine due to a health condition
• Present a recent (maximum of three days) negative PCR test result. This rule particularly applies to those working in expert services and advisory companies that interact with government bodies often.
