Cinema Space in Manarat Al Saadiyat has been restoring classic and contemporary movies since 2014. The idea of these free community screenings was introduced to entertain the true movie buffs who enjoy old classics like Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and It’s a Wonderful World by Frank Capra. CINEMA SPACE – AN OVERVIEW
It is a free screening community aimed at preserving classic masterpieces. It was created by the Film Foundation (a non-profit organisation) in collaboration with DelphiQuest and Oracle Corporation.
They have a Restoration Screening Room and a virtual theatre which you can easily access via any web browser. So, just in case, you didn’t get a slot at the cinema, you can always go for the virtual screening option.
The cinema has introduced different programmes and categorises each movie to make it easier for audiences to pick. The screenings take place within a 72-hour window on the 2nd Monday of every month.
Every screening also presents a Special Feature about the selected movies and their restoration process.
HOW TO BOOK?
The cinema conducts in-person screenings as well as online viewings. Whilst both are free of cost, RSVP is mandatory due to limited seating.
To book, you can browse the Cinema Space programs categories on their official website and select an upcoming program. Then click on the ‘Register Now’ button to reserve a spot for yourself and the guests you want to bring along.
Once you have registered, you will receive an automatic email confirmation with a QR code. To enter the venue, this QR code will be validated through a contactless scan.
