The most popular locality for buying apartments in Abu Dhabi, per data corresponding to December 2016, was Al Reem Island. With a fresher stock of quality units, waterfront views and exclusivity, Al Reem Island took home a mammoth 52% of the search queries to be at the number one spot. A distant second was Al Raha Beach with an 18% share of searches, while Al Reef was at the third position after receiving 10% of the inquires for apartments for sale in the emirate. The rapidly developing Saadiyat Island was placed fourth on the list and the fifth spot went to Al Ghadeer, a community along the emirate’s border with Dubai. Keep in mind that all of these localities are designated investment areas, meaning foreigners can own properties here under full protection of the emirate’s laws.

Villas
Villas are a highly popular residential option in Abu Dhabi and usually remain in demand throughout the year. During December 2016, the most popular among villa localities in Abu Dhabi was Al Reef, which received a maximum 22% of the search inquires on Bayut.com. The locality is close to the international airport and popular entertainment facilities on the nearby Yas Island, making it highly appealing for families in business minded folks alike. At the second spot with 18% share of queries we had Saadiyat Island, where development work is underway in full steam and population is rising by the day.
Villas along Al Salam Street, which is close to the National Mangrove Park, were at the third spot, while Khalifa City A took the fourth spot on our list by taking home 8% of the searches. The list was rounded up by Yas Island, which is a highly popular neighbourhood owing to destinations like the Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World and Yas Mall.

In the quest for acquisition of office spaces, Al Reem Island was head and shoulders clear of other localities, accounting for a whopping 86% share of the search inquiries. The locality is laced with an extremely modern and practical infrastructure, the construction is of high quality and important businesses have offices set up in the vicinity. It is also extremely convenient for professionals, as they get to live and work in parts of the same locality, and being pet-friendly also adds to the area’s attractiveness.
