Dubai Marathon 2024 has multiple race distance options for running capabilities. While enjoying a fun, sporty day in the sun, participants can enjoy iconic views of Dubai’s skyline and streets.

The date of the Dubai Marathon, January 2024, is six months before the Summer Olympics in Paris. There will be enough time until April 2024 for athletes to qualify. Hence, participation in the Dubai Marathon allows aspiring participants and debutants to take the global spotlight and get international acclaim.

Different Types of Races at Dubai Marathon

There will be three types of races for varied capabilities at the Dubai Marathon on the 7th of January.

4 km Run

Runners who fancy trying their hand at a marathon can sign up for the 4 km run. All ages are open to participation.

10 km Run

A little more challenging than the previous race, you’ll take a 10 km race path. Anyone above the age of 15 can participate.

42 km Run

The highlight running course of the Dubai Marathon, participants will have to cover a distance of 42 km across the set track. The race will start and finish on Umm Suqeim Road, close to the Dubai Police Academy. The course will take runners through Jumeirah Beach Road, past the iconic Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah Living properties. The Dubai Marathon 2024 route is scenic and memorable, we’re sure!

Participants aged 18 years and above can register for the 42km Race.

Group Challenges for Companies

The Dubai Marathon allows group participation in the Corporate Challenge category. It is an excellent opportunity for team building and outside the office to build camaraderie.

Each team should have at least three people to compete in a 42 km marathon, while five participants must finish a 10 km race. 

Dubai Marathon Prize Money

The winner of the Dubai Marathon 2024 will walk away with a prize of a whopping USD 80,000! This is one of the biggest rewards for marathon runners across the world, so the race attracts quite a lot of visitors. 

The top ten winners receive cash prices from $1,500 up to $40,000. The winners (male and female) receive $80,000, respectively.

Facilities offered at Dubai Marathon 2024

Several facilities are offered to the participants at the Dubai Marathon.

• There will be a medical station with paramedical staff and an ambulance
• Water stations will be present throughout the track but at different locations, depending on the type of race.
  • 42km: Every 2.5km from 5km to 40 km and at the finish
  • 10km: At 5km and the finish
  • 4km: At the finish line
• Isotonic drinks will be available every 5km from 10km and at the finish
• Sponge and toilet facilities will be open from 5km to 40km on the marathon route
• Marathon and 10km Runners will receive a race pack and a ‘baggage bag’
• All participants will get an Adidas Climacool official race t-shirt, medal and certificate
• There will be many live bands and a diverse selection of entertainment facilities for both participants and spectators
• Food and beverage facilities will be available as well

How to Register for Dubai Marathon 2024

You can only register online for the Dubai Marathon 2024 by visiting the official Dubai Marathon website. Once you read all the details, click on ‘I Agree’. It will direct you to another page where you must submit your credentials.

The Dubai Marathon 2024 registration process requires information about:

• Your nationality
• Team/Corporate
• Predicted Time
• Contact Details

Once you provide the details, you will be asked to give additional information such as:

• Measurements for shirt
• Your profession
• Coupon code (if you have one)
• Credit Card type, number, validity and security code

And voila, you will be registered for the competition.

Dubai Marathon 2024 Entry Fees

The entry fee for the Dubai Marathon varies based on the type of race.

• For 42 km: USD 150
• For 10 km: USD 85
• For 4km: USD 50

When can I collect my race run number?

You can collect your specific run numbers from the Adidas store in Dubai Mall on the following dates. You must collect them personally on any of the dates below, as you must provide proof of identity.

• Wednesday, 3rd January: 03.00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Thursday, 4th January: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Friday, 5th January: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Saturday, 6th January: 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.

Things to consider while entering the world’s richest running event

You need to know a few things before visiting the Dubai Marathon 2024.

• Remember that the temperature will be approximately 10 to 15 degrees Celsius on the race day.
• The race timings will be calculated using ‘Mika Tag’, an electronic timing system. All participants will receive it in their race pack.
• Do not park your vehicle around the racing tracks. Instead, opt for the Al Wasl Road junctions (away from the start and finish). You can opt for parking in the Mall of the Emirates or the Al Barsha area.
• Collect your run number yourself, providing your proof of identity. In case of any difficulty, send someone with a transcript of the final confirmation letter and Emirates ID card.
• Check whether your run number is mentioned on your ‘baggage bag’.
• Book your taxi beforehand to avoid any hassle.
• There will be a taxi drop-off and collection point after the race on Al Wasl Road.
• Pets are not allowed.
• The event organisers hold the right to reject any entries.

Dubai Marathon 2024 Timings

• People of determination and VIPs can come for the Marathon at 05:55 a.m. (marathon elite can join at 6:00 a.m.), while the general public is welcome from 07:00 a.m.
• 10km Road Race will take place at 08:15 am
• 4 km Fun Run will occur at 10:30 am
