The cars on display at the Emirates National Auto Museum are part of the private collection of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan — popularly known as the Rainbow Sheikh thanks to his enviable collection of seven Mercedes S-Classes which are in different colours of the rainbow. The cars in this museum were procured from across the world and included special editions, luxury, and production vehicles.
Visitors to the Emirates National Auto Museum can learn about the history of the modern automobile industry. Also, catch a glimpse into the lives of Arab princes from the 1960s to the 1990s.
There are over two hundred vehicles on display at this classic car museum in Abu Dhabi. Some were used by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and were even transformed as per the wishes of the Sheikh.
WHAT CAN YOU SEE AT THE EMIRATES NATIONAL AUTO MUSEUM?
As you enter the car museum, you will notice a caravan in the shape of a globe. Adjacent to it lies the car showroom in the shape of a pyramid made out of steel.
The Giant Dodge Power Wagon in the middle of the Emirates National Auto Museum generates great interest and is the perfect spot to take selfies. It is considered to be the largest car in the world, eight times bigger than the original Dodge model, to be exact. The 4-bed truck is a sight to behold.
