All you need to know about the upcoming Burj Jumeira Tower
Dubai is home to some of the most iconic buildings in the world. This tremendous development has been possible due to the long-term vision of the leadership to make it the smartest city in the world. The emirate is a futuristic city where engineering marvels are unveiled on a regular basis.
With a cohesive infrastructure and dozens of government processes employing innovative engineering technologies including artificial intelligence, Dubai will be an example which rest of the world shall follow. The development of Downtown Jumeira is just another step in this direction. The centrepiece of this world-class project will be a supertall skyscraper called Burj Jumeira.
All About the Burj Jumeira
Burj Jumeira’s contractor, Dubai Holdings, has released digitalised snapshots of how Burj Jumeira will look like when completed. ‘Spectacular’ doesn’t begin to describe the stunning structure the Burj Jumeirah Tower is expected to become.
The main tower’s design resembles the harmonic ripples of the dunes and deserts of the UAE. The upcoming architectural wonder is designed by the globally famous Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an urban planning and engineering firm behind some world-renowned structures, including the new headquarters of The Walt Disney Company, Kansas City Airport and Dubai’s own Burj Khalifa.
Burj Jumeira Height
The expected Burj Jumeira height is 550 metres, which means it will soon be added to the list of tallest skyscrapers in Dubai. It will also have multiple observation decks offering 360 degrees views of the emirate and of course, an ideal opportunity to take some stunning panoramic photos.
Burj Jumeira Roof Top
The summit of the tower is the ‘Crown’ that will be home to a vibrant sky lounge as well as interconnected sky-restaurants where the city’s night owls can enjoy stunning views and spectacular parties at Burj Jumeira’s Crown.
Burj Jumeira Base
The base of the tower is designed after the sketch of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed’s fingerprint.
We will see a lot of cultural, social and artistic events being held here. Moreover, it will also feature an outdoor amphitheatre, water fountains and retail outlets. Most importantly, expect to witness some interactive light and fireworks on special occasions.
Digital Displays
Does your heart fill with joy when you see digital displays on Burj Khalifa as a part of global celebrations? Well, expect the same from Burj Jumeira. Once completed, the stunning new tower’s façade will be covered with digital displays to mark special occasions.
Downtown Jumeira
The latest venture of Dubai Holding, Downtown Jumeira, which will be home to the Burj Jumeira Tower was unveiled last year. In fact, the much-anticipated project was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai himself.
Downtown Jumeira
When completed, Burj Jumeira will be a stone’s throw away from the iconic Burj Al Arab. Downtown Jumeira is currently in the early stages of construction and will be a part of the larger Al Sufouh district close to the Dubai Knowledge Park, Madinat Jumeirah and Dubai Internet City.
The design of Downtown Jumeira would be similar to Downtown Dubai – the area that’s home to the tallest building in the world. Moreover, like Downtown Dubai, this will also be a pedestrian-friendly mixed-use area with several exciting recreational facilities. The expected date of completion of Downtown Jumeira’s first phase is 2023.
What to Expect?
Given what we have seen so far from the design illustrations released by Dubai Holding for the Burj Jumeira tower, it is safe to say that this will be a glorious addition to Dubai’s architectural landscape. Tourists are likely to flock to Downtown Jumeira to take selfies with the amazing structure in the backdrop.
The area will have residential as well as commercial towers. Moreover, you will find hotels and F&Bs. So, in the next three years or so the dynamics of Dubai’s tourism industry, as well as the property market, will change to some degree.
In terms of transportation, the Burj Jumeira location will have a covered pathway from the Sharaf DG Metro Station. This will continue through the development until Burj Al Arab.
Currently, Dubai is one of the world’s leading tourists destination. Moreover, it is also one of the top places where people look to invest in properties. With the introduction of Burj Jumeira in Downtown Jumeira and Burj 2020 in the Uptown District, Dubai’s importance as the leading tourism and business hub in the region will only increase. It is likely that we will see a significant boost in the number of tourists visiting Dubai and also a greater flow of foreign direct investment in Dubai’s property market.
