Enjoy amazing panoramic views of Khor Fakkan from Al Suhub Rest House
Khor Fakkan is one of the most popular tourist spots in the UAE. In the past few years, the government has launched many initiatives to boost tourism and facilitate visitors. The highly anticipated Al Suhub Rest House inauguration by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is another step in that direction. The scenic destination opened recently and word of mouth so far is highly positive.
ALL ABOUT THE AL SUHUB REST HOUSE
This incredible new hotspot in the mountains of Khor Fakkan has fascinating architecture. The building’s design resembles a flying saucer. The circular structure is unique, with a diameter of 30 metres. Al Suhub Rest House is almost 600 metres above sea level. The mountaintop “cloud lounge” at the Rest House provides the perfect vantage point to soak in the scenic views.
A 5.63 km long two-sided road has been constructed so you can easily drive up to Suhub Rest House. Not to mention, there’s enough parking space for personal vehicles. If you’re up for the challenge, how about hiking to the top? Just make sure you pace yourself right when going up the mountain.
The rest house has two floors covering an area of 2,788 sq m. There is a café and a restaurant on the ground floor that can accommodate more than 130 guests. There is also a multi-purpose hall and separate prayer rooms for men and women.
The Al Suhub Rest Area features water fountains and massive green spaces with more than 8,000 trees. Visitors can relax under the thick shadows and have a nice time with their families. Little ones can spend time at the dedicated play area. A 3-km path will take you from the Al Suhub Rest Area to the Al Rafisah Dam – a fun destination for the whole family.
There are plans to open two more rest houses at 253m and 480m above sea level.
