All you need to know about the Abu Dhabi-Ras Al Khaimah bus service

The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority and the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a new bus service between the emirates. This Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah bus service is the first direct service connecting the emirates since 2008.

Before the launch of the Abu Dhabi to RAK bus service, commuters had to either drive the whole distance or change buses in Sharjah, which increased the travel time from RAK to the capital city to over six hours. The new bus service provides a direct route from Abu Dhabi to RAK and vice versa. It is safe, efficient and cheap.

The Abu Dhabi-RAK bus tickets are priced differently depending on where you’re travelling from.

• Abu Dhabi to RAK bus fare is AED 35
• Ras Al Khaimah to Abu Dhabi bus fare is AED 45

FROM WHICH BUS STATION CAN I TAKE THE ABU DHABI TO RAK BUS?

The bus service will run from the Al Dhait Bus Station in RAK to the Downtown Bus Station in Abu Dhabi.

WHAT IS THE FREQUENCY OF THE RAK-ABU DHABI BUS SERVICE?

Buses on the Abu Dhabi-Ras Al Khaimah route and vice versa will run twice a day, three days a week on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The distance between Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi is approximately 250 km. The bus ride from one emirate to the other can take around 2 hours and 30 minutes.

You can buy tickets for the RAK-Abu Dhabi bus route from the designated bus stations.
