Indian film enthusiasts, it’s your time of the year. After its grand success in 2023, IIFA is back for its 2024 edition. This time, the IIFA will be celebrating the best of both Bollywood and South Indian cinemas!
IIFA Utsavam, the celebration of South Indian cinema, will be held on the 27th of September. This will be followed by the Bollywood extravaganza on the 28th and 29th of September at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi hosted by the charismatic legend, Shah Rukh Khan!
With rib-tickling skits and mesmerising performances, IIFA 2024 will be a fabulous celebration honouring the best performers from the Indian film industry. Let’s find out what’s in store for the event this year.
ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL INDIAN FILM ACADEMY AWARDS
IIFA undoubtedly is one of the industry’s most celebrated awards shows. The first event was held in 2000 in London and the show has grown irrepressibly year after year. It now attracts hundreds of millions of viewers around the world on an annual basis. Bagging an award is seen as a mark of excellence amongst the industry fraternity and a myriad of big names are part of this grand event each year.
Added to the mix is IIFA Utsavam, since South Indian cinema is so diverse and needs a moment of its own. This award show recognises the best of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries respectively.
The remarkable thing about the IIFA Awards is that it is held in different countries, allowing Bollywood fans outside India to see their favourite performers shake a leg and receive deserved accolades. The 24th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards 2024 will be returning to the UAE with a bang!
Location, Date and Timings
IIFA 2024 will be held at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
IIFA Utsavam will be held on the 27th of September, from 04:00 pm. IIFA Awards will be held on the 28th of September, followed by IIFA Rocks on the 29th, starting from 06:00 pm.
IIFA AWARDS 2024: Highlights
This year’s award show promises to be more extravagant and grander than ever. IIFA 2024 will be hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, an actor known for his charismatic smile, humour and positivity.
We will see performances by Rekha, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Kriti Sanon and Janhvi Kapoor at the event. The awards are in multiple categories, recognising the best music direction, negative role performances, supporting roles and lead roles.
IIFA Rocks 2024
The 29th of September will be all about dance and music. Called IIFA Rocks, this event will be bringing Bollywood’s biggest artists, musicians and filmmakers together for a night of unforgettable tunes and great memories.
IIFA Rocks 2024 will be hosted by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee. There will be performances by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Honey Singh, amongst others.
IIFA Utsavam
South Indian cinema deserves praise of its own, which is what IIFA Utsavam is all about. This award show is divided into four language categories and recognises the best actors, filmmakers, directors and musicians that have created masterpieces on the big screen. Similar to how the word ‘Utsavam’ means festival, this event is a festival of South Indian cinema.
IIFA Utsavam 2024 will be hosted by:
- Telugu: Rana Dagubatti and Teja Sajja
- Kannada: Akul Balaji and Vijay Raghavendra
- Tamil: Sathish and Diya Menon
- Malayalam: Sudev Nair and Pearle Maaney
We will be seeing performances by Prabhu Deva, Rockstar DSP, Shane Nigam, Raashii Khanna, Pragya Jaiswal, Malashri, Aradhana Ram and Regina Cassandra.

Please note that tickets for the IIFA Awards, IIFA Rocks and IIFA Utsavam are sold separately on the IIFA website, Etihad Arena site as well as on Platinumlist.
IIFA 2024 tickets have different categories priced based on seating. Prices are AED 100, AED 300 (sold out), AED 500 (sold out) and AED 750 (sold out).
IIFA Rocks tickets are available for AED 100.
IIFA Utsavam 2024 tickets are available for AED 100, AED 150 (sold out), AED 750 and AED 1,500. We recommend buying the tickets as soon as possible, as they are selling out fast!

Who are the popular nominees in the IIFA Awards 2024?
In this year’s film nominees, the much talked about film ‘Animal’ has Ranbir Kapoor as a nominee for the Leading Role (male) category, as well as Bobby Deol for Performance in a Negative Role. Its director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has also been nominated for best direction. The film ‘Jawan’ also has a nominated director, Atlee, as well as Shah Rukh Khan for the Leading Role (male) category and Vijay Sethupathi for Performance in a Negative Role.
