A new celebration of comedy is coming to Abu Dhabi! The inaugural Abu Dhabi Comedy Week 2024 will be bringing top comedians from all around the world to the UAE’s capital for a week long festival of hilarity. About the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week 2024
The 2024 Abu Dhabi Comedy Week is geared up to be a riotous celebration of stand-up comedy. The festival will be taking place at Yas Island’s Etihad Arena from the 18th to the 26th of May 2024. Twelve top comedians, nine laughter-packed shows, a world-class venue….and laughter by the bucketload!
The Performers
The list of comedians coming to perform at the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week has got the city’s residents hyped up, with some of the most recognisable names in the industry are coming to town! Let’s check out the comedic geniuses bringing their talents to the Yas Island stage.
Aziz Ansari
Aziz Ansari is an American award-winning actor, comedian and writer with a sense of humour that’s supremely relatable. You’ll probably recognise him from his role in Parks and Recreation and his hilarious show, Master of None.

Tommy Tiernan and Kevin Bridges

Bad Friends (Andrew Santino & Bobby Lee)
Andrew Santino and Bobby Lee’s podcast, Bad Friends, is a lot of people’s comfort-listen when they need a sprinkle of laughter after a rough day. And now, they’re coming to Abu Dhabi for some IRL comedy! They have got a lot of fun topics to cover, so we’re sure this one’s guaranteed to have you giggling. After his sold-out show in Abu Dhabi last year, Andrew is back to get people chuckling.

Dave Chapelle
Popular comedian Dave Chapelle is coming to Abu Dhabi! Dave Chapelle has a ton of fans (and haters) owing to his tongue-in-cheek, brutally honest comedy that speaks to so many people. His comedy special ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ has been described as ‘scathing’, which could also describe his comedic style. Dave is going to be taking over the stage for social commentary in the most entertaining way possible.

Bassem Youssef and Maz Jobrani
American comedians Bassem Youssef and Maz Jobrani are coming together to co-headline a show at the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week 2024. Bassem is Egyptian-American and known for the El Bernameg, a show that focuses on Egyptian politics. Maz Jobrani co-hosts the podcast ‘All Things Comedy’ and has made several television appearances, including ‘Descendants’ and ’13 Going on 30′. Together, they’re ready to tickle your funny bones.

Tom Segura

Chris Tucker

Booking tickets for the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week 2024
You can book tickets for your favourite artist individually, through the Etihad Arena website or LiveNation. We would recommend booking your Abu Dhabi Comedy Week tickets as soon as possible, as many of the popular seats are being sold out!
If you’re planning on staying in Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week, you can opt for a package with Yas Island. To do this, simply head to the Yas Island website, select the dates you want to stay and then choose your hotel and ticket category. They have an array of hotels in Yas Island for you to choose from, such as Centro Yas Island, Raddison Blu and W Abu Dhabi.
Things to remember
- All the shows are phone-free experiences, i.e. filming or taking pictures is not allowed.
- Once you have scanned your e-ticket to enter the Etihad area, make sure your phone is silent. You will be given a secured pouch for your gadgets, smartwatches and other accessories upon entry. You can only use your phone at the designated Phone Use Areas. If you’re caught using your phone, you will be escorted out of the arena.
- You should be 16+ years old to attend. 16 – 20 year-olds must be accompanied by a 21+ year-old adult.
- Bags larger than 30 x 30 x 15 are not allowed. There are no cloakrooms available
- Re-entry isn’t permitted.
- Refunds and transfers are not entertained.

Stand-up comedy is a favourite amongst residents of Dubai, which is why there are shows on the calendar for the whole year. To name a few: Russian stand-up comedian Ivan Abramov will be coming to Dubai to perform on the 11th of May. Show Improvizatory, a stand-up show with three comedians – Arseny Popov, Dmitry Pozov, Sergei Matvienko and Anton Shastun – will be taking place on the 24th of October. All these shows are in Russian.
