Also called the Qasr Al Ghamedh, this stunning abandoned palace in RAK was built in 1985 by the late Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Qassimi, costing a whooping AED 500 million. The palace is thought to be haunted and those rumours have seen it become one of RAK’s most popular tourists attractions!
As the story goes, the inhabitants left the palace after they encountered mysterious occurrences like furniture being thrown across the room, missing objects and faces appearing at windows and walls. These mysterious and unexplained phenomena is the reason why it’s also called the “Al Qasimi Jinn Palace”.
There’s plenty to explore at the four-storey palace with 35 rooms topped by a glass dome pyramid roof, through which natural sunlight illuminates the floors. The palace’s interior is decorated with gorgeous murals, artefacts and chandeliers imported from Belgium and France. Visit the haunted palace and explore if the mysterious rumours about it are true.
