Zone 5, Hydra Village

Zone 5 is part of the ten zones in Hydra Village, Abu Dhabi. Hydra Village is a leasehold development by Hydra Properties. It is located on E11 that is the main highway connecting Abu Dhabi to Dubai. The area is on a short drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Part of ‘new Abu Dhabi’, it is close to the residential development of Al Raha Beach and entertainment centre, Yas Island.

The area guarantees a peaceful living and is a self-sufficient community. The properties in Zone 5 comprises various villa and townhouses for sale and lease. The community is surrounded by gardens, parks and open spaces. A number of amenities such as mosques, clinics and supermarkets are located nearby.

There are up to 417 villa units in Zone 5. The area has its own purpose-built community centre that includes facilities like billiard club, squash court, gym, multipurpose hall and a swimming pool. Also, the area consists of mosques and landscaped private and public gardens.

Villas in Zone 5 are arranged in a series, where one unit is connected to the other. These houses feature simple architecture with plain walls, sharp edges and balconies. They are painted with vibrant citrusy shades that make them stand out.

There are designated parking spaces in Zone 5 for residents, while guests can park their cars outside the homes.

There are currently limited routes for public transportation in Zone 5. There is one under construction that will be accessed from Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (E11) and will lead to Zone 4 and Zone 7.

One can easily find grocery as there is a number of supermarkets near Zone 5.  Shahama Green Market is the famous farmer’s market that houses plenty of little shops that sell a variety of consumer goods like food, spices and fresh fruits and meat. Easy Way Supermarket and Rameez Hypermarket Shahama, also called Hyper Ramez, are also located at just about a 10-minute drive.

There are several mosques in Zone 5 that Muslim residents can rely on. Most of them are located at the adjacent community, Al Shabiya such as Samaha Mosque and Ahmed Al Mansoori Mosque. Another popular mosque, Al Emam Al Shafi Masjid and Masjid Al Noor are also located in Al Bahya within a 10-minute drive.

The newly developed area is closed to several religious facilities. There is only one church near Zone 5, New Life Church located at about a 12-minute drive.

The upcoming Hindu temple will be 9 minutes away from Zone 5 when complete. Residents can instead travel to the Shiva and Krishna temples in Dubai.

Parents can send their toddlers to a number of nurseries near Zone 5.

Yas Mall, located at Yas Island is another most popular mall in Abu Dhabi. At Yas Mall, you can have an incredible shopping, entertainment and dining experience. It is home to 370 international brands, 68 F&B outlets. Entertainment options in Yas Mall are also widely available. It also comprises a 24 Screen Vox Cinemas and Fun Works.

One can find plenty of restaurants near Zone 5. Most of them are located alongside Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road near New Shahama Park.

There are no specific groups for the residents of Zone 5 but people of Hydra Village can connect with each other by joining Facebook groups ‘ Hydra Village’ and ‘Hydra Village Community’.

Zone 5 is a good place to invest in but people planning to move in here should consider a few things in mind. Firstly, the area lacks access to public transportation but they can always use taxis and personal vehicles to move around. Most of the amenities are still under construction, once they are fully built residents can enjoy more facilities.
