BEACHES NEAR THE GREENS

There is no beach in The Greens but nearby there is the JBR, home to an open beach just 15 minutes away. Alongside this, there is the outdoor Beach mall and the many restaurants along the JBR boardwalk. There’s a lot to do at The Beach JBR from shopping to dining and participating in watersports events. If you fancy a swim you can easily head down to one of the community pools that is a part of each complex.

Fun places close to The Greens include the karaoke bar Lucky Voice, you can book a room or sing your heart out on the main stage. Food and alcoholic beverages are also available at this venue. For movie nights under the sky, VOX drive-in theatre at MOE is a nice place to be. The mall is also home to Dreamscape VR Park loved by kids and adults alike. Whereas, those craving for an adrenaline rush can head to a branch of Ski Dubai within the establishment, it also features a snow park, some cafeterias and you may even get a chance to see the penguins.

Further, sports enthusiasts can visit the Emirates Golf Club to practice their golf game. It has a 36-hole golf course, a clubhouse, multiple award-winning restaurants and bars. Not to mention, if you are just a beginner you could visit their golf academy.

There are usually 6 races per afternoon, the first race is held at 2:30 pm. The racecourse is also used to host events, it can currently seat 2000 people. Children are allowed but recommended to stick close to the parents.

For those living in The Greens will find green spaces at every corner, be it walking tracks, playgrounds or in the courtyards. With vibrant outdoors, The Greens is counted among the greenest communities in Dubai with walkways. Also, There are small public parks in each complex for residents to visit. The Children’s Park at the serene neighbourhood is one of the top free parks in Dubai with dedicated playgrounds near the pond.

Besides, there are a lot of outdoor activities for pet-parents to enjoy with their fur babies. They can hit one of Dubai’s best pet parks, The Greens Dog Park located on Street 6. Also, Arrows and Sparrows Dog Cafe within the development is one of the rare finds, a pet-friendly place in Dubai where you can enjoy a meal with your pets, friends and family.

For fitness enthusiasts, apart from the gyms in the complexes, there are gyms in nearby Barsha Heights. There is also a tennis court for the community to use, this would require prior booking.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

There is a community garden in The Greens, it is known as The Backyard. Located on Street 3 opposite the central lawn the garden is home to 41 different varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. If home gardening isn’t your thing you can head down The Backyard to garden, unwind and relax breathing in the fresh air.

There is the community centre which hosts children’s activities and the regular holiday events including traditional events like Halloween, Chinese New Year, Earth Hour, National Day and Christmas. Some exclusive ones include Festival of Lights and musical events, such as Dandiya and Gharba Nights.

There are also Community Movie Nights planned from time to time in the lawn behind Springs 15. People from all over the community make their way to this screening ground, where at the end of the movie a trivia or quiz is held and prizes are distributed to winners.

If you like to stay updated with the upcoming events, there is a Facebook group called “The Greens- Dubai” which is only for community-related discussions and would be great for new residents to join.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

Living in The Greens is ideal for those who fancy living closer to nature. There are grand green landscaped areas and a small lake within the community hyping up the overall refreshing vibe. It is an area where everything is accessible regardless of public transport or your own car, however, the main issue in the area is parking. If you have more than 1 car this might be a problem for you.
