Ibn Majid Museum is another landmark of the community. It was a maritime museum named after the famous Arab seafarer Ahmed Bin Majid. He was known as the ‘lion of the sea’ due to his exceptional sailing skills. Ahmad Ibn Majid was also a navigator, scholar and poet. The museum in Ras Al Selaab has numerous exhibits such as equipment required for pearl diving, a model of traditional rowing boats and pictures made from shells.
