Set amidst the beautiful Hajar Mountains, Masfout, also known as Masfoot or Masfut, is a region in Ajman popular as a tourist attraction. The village features many government facilities and municipal centres. Also, there’s a dedicated courthouse that was built back in 2017. A 13,500 square metre Waraqa Park surrounds the former home of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi.
Streets stretching from the outskirts of Masfut Ajman are dotted with pottery vendors. If you are heading back towards Ajman via the Dubai-Hatta Road, you will find Arabian Pottery on the right-hand side with a garden showcasing various cultural pots and wares. To cater to medical emergencies, there are two hospitals near Masfout. Sheikh Khalifa Hospital is a new facility in the vicinity. Another option is Hatta Hospital located near Hatta Hill Park.
Sayh Mudayrah is a densely populated village near Masfut. There are two more popular areas in proximity including Hatta and Al Wajajah.

Masfout village is home to the 18th Century Bin Sultan Mosque and the Masfout Fort. The fort can be spotted on the mountains above the village. It was restored in 1940 by H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid.
Built with stones, wood, mud and timber, Masfout Castle is located at the top of Al Hajar Mountains. A challenging trek up to the top during the day reveals picturesque views and is worth the effort. The castle is found on the northern borders of Masfout. It was built in the 19th century to protect the area from the bandits. The castle consists of two rooms and a gate, it was renovated by H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamid Al Nuaimi when he became the ruler of Ajman in 1947.
Masfout has a countryside loved by the visitors for relaxing strolls, mountain biking and wadi exploration. Further, plans are underway to attract more tourists by developing hotels, parks and an international airport in Ajman. Watersports at different beaches in the UAE remains as a top activity for locals and tourists alike. Similarly, those who visit Masfoot can experience kayaking at Hatta Dam.
