Hoshi is a residential area on the outskirts of Sharjah, near the Dubai – Sharjah border. It is a neighbouring district to Al Noaf in Sharjah and Al Khawaneej in Dubai. Unlike most areas of Sharjah, the area does not offer residential towers or penthouses, it only has villas to offer for rent and sale. The villas are not built close to each other and offer a private spacious residence. One of the key factors for those considering living in Hoshi is its peaceful environment. Most 5-bedroom mansions are newly built and are the most popular villa type in Hoshi. These homes cover an area of 9,000 sq. ft. to 10,000 sq. ft. These grand villas are 2-storeys unit and some villas have two kitchens, one on each storey. The spacious lounge is on the first floor and is connected to the balcony. All villas have a swimming pool and a backyard. Sale price trends for a 5-bedroom villa range from AED 2.1M to AED 4.2M. The rent, on an average, is AED 120k per year.
Apart from villas, residential plots are also available for sale in Hoshi. Plots are ideal for people who want to build and design their own home. These residential plots cover an area of 10,000 sq. ft. and the asking price of plots is between AED 720k to AED 800k.

The best way to commute is through a private car as the closest public transport link would be the bus stops in Dubai, but these are quite a distance away. Bus 13D, 33, X13 or X28 shuttle close to Al Noaf. There are no bus stops so one has to walk from the nearest bus stop to reach Hoshi, this can be quite tough in the harsh summer months.
There are currently no supermarkets in Hoshi but Bait Al Marah Supermarket in the neighbouring district of Al Noaf is the closest. It is well-stocked and residents can rely on it for their daily grocery needs. Both Sharjah Co-operative Supermarket and Al Madinah Supermarket near Al Gharayen are 10 minutes away from Hoshi.
Hoshi lies close to the Dubai – Sharjah border which makes it possible for residents to head to Dubai to visit temples and churches.

To cater to the educational needs of residents, there are plenty of primary and secondary schools near Hoshi. Sharjah International School is 7 minutes away and the school boasts itself as one of the best schools in the city that has the British and Arabic curriculums.
Other closely dotted schools include Al Qarain Primary & Secondary School, Fatima Al Zahra Primary & Secondary School, Al Asma Elementary School and Al Wahda Private School.
University City Sharjah is located right next to Hoshi and is home to many reputable higher education options. The list includes American University of Sharjah, University of Sharjah, Skyline University, Higher Colleges of Technology, Al Qasimia University and Exeed School of Business and Finance.
For healthcare facilities, residents have to drive for 13 minutes to reach Thumbay Hospital which is a tertiary care hospital. Thumbay Hospital is known as one of the largest healthcare providers in the region. Other nearby medical options include Ishaq Bin Omran Medical Centre and DHA Medical Fitness Centre. Another tertiary care hospital near Hoshi is Zulekha Hospital in Dubai which is at a 20-minute distance from the neighbourhood.
Lying close to Emirates Road, Hoshi has popular next-door neighbours such as Al Noaf, University City Sharjah and the Al Falah Suburb.
Residents of Hoshi can get their shopping needs fulfilled in Safeer Market which is less than 10 minutes away. It has a hypermarket for people to fill their grocery bags. You can also find weekly discounts on most items.
City Centre Al Zahia which is under construction will supposedly be a primary leisure destination for people in Northern Sharjah including Hoshi. Located at an 11-minute drive, it will have a variety of retail shops, eateries and entertainment options. This mall most likely will be open for visitors by the end of 2020. It is expected to serve 1.9M people with a diverse mix of 360 retail brands.
From small cafeterias to high-end eateries, there are plenty of restaurants in Hoshi. Those looking for shawarmas can head out to Shawarma House Restaurant which is 13 minutes away from Hoshi. Authentic Kuwaiti food can be savoured in Alkout Kuwaiti Food Restaurant which is right next to Shawarma House. International fast-food chains are also dotted near the area including Hardee’s, Wagamama, Pizza Express and Subway.
All the beaches are more or less 30 minutes away from Hoshi. Al Khan Beach, which is a public beach is 27 minutes away. It is one of the most crowded beaches in the city and is known for its water sports centre and surf school. Al Mamzar Beach Park in Sharjah is at a 27-minute drive as well, it is located close to Al Khan Beach. It spreads across 106 hectares with swaying palm trees, three pools, a large playground and a dedicated barbeque area.
To enjoy the nightlife of UAE, residents can reach out to an array of bars in Dubai including McGettigan’s Bar, Jules Bar, The Dubliners, The Old Bull Pub, Cielo Sky Lounge, La Fabrique and Karaoke Bar. These are almost half an hour away from Hoshi.

Hoshi is a newly developed district which is still under the construction phase but it already is the most popular choice for people looking to buy villas in Sharjah. Because the vicinity is not completely developed, residents have to travel to neighbouring districts to find supermarkets, hospitals and schools.
