Finding parking spaces on Electra Street, specially on weekends, can get a bit tricky since it is a busy area. Street parking gets filled pretty quickly because of the many shops in the district. However, residents do get dedicated parking slots in the buildings.
On the brighter side, this problem won’t exist for long since the Abu Dhabi Government has already planned a parking lot to be constructed in Navy Gate just opposite Electra Street.
Living up to its happening vibes, Electra Street is usually busy due to the abundance of shops and commercial spaces. There aren’t any public buses at the moment but one can find scheduled buses at the stations just off Sheikh Zayed, The First Street. You can also use taxis for a comfortable commute.

Like any other region in Abu Dhabi, there are several mosques on Electra Street. The closest ones are Afra Bint Ahmad Mosque and Mohammad Bin Darwaish Mosque. Those in search of churches near Electra Street can visit Cornerstone International Church on Al Reem Island via Hamdan Street within 10 minutes. There aren’t any Hindu temples in the community, however, the Sikh New Gurudwara is a 30-minute drive via Al Shahama Road.

Electra Street is a shoppers’ paradise, especially with its electronics and mobile market. Several shops are lined all across the street, however, no malls are found here. The one in the neighbouring area of Hamdan Street, Hamdan Shopping Center, is a popular attraction. Also, Abu Dhabi Mall is less than 4 minutes away from Electra Street and features many high-end retail brands, VOX Cinemas, Fun City and casual dining options.
Foodies shouldn’t worry at all as Electra Street is packed with amazing eateries and restaurants. Select Rabie Restaurant behind LuLu Express is a much loved Indian cuisine spot while Taboon Pastries is famous for its Lebanese food.
Other excellent choices include Chicken Street, Dragon Bao Bao Cafeteria and Majlis Grand Mercure with rooftop dining. Asian Garden Restaurant is popular for delivering Thai, Chinese, and Filipino cuisines to the doorstep. Not to mention the many international fast food outlets have branches on Electra Street.
Abu Dhabi Beach is a short drive from the residential community of Electra Street. So you can expect majestic views from the windows and balconies. Al Sahil Beach in Corniche is also a perfect get-away where you can sit for hours. The best part about picnics on the Corniche Beach is that you can enjoy numerous fun-filled activities, the water levels are marked safe and there’re professional lifeguards.
Electra Park, the absolute charm of the locality attracts families and youngsters alike. It has a huge grassy outdoor area with separate children’s play areas and basketball grounds. Many community events are often held at the park. Al Ittihad Square, Mamsha Al Khair, and Roundabout Monument are the highlighted landmarks near Electra Street that keep the history of Abu Dhabi alive.
For most locals and tourists, outdoor activities in Abu Dhabi involve loads of shopping sprees. But if your idea of a perfect evening involves quality time with family, you can enjoy a mini picnic on the roadside family parks. These recreational parks and playgrounds also have trimmed garden areas and jogging tracks while a number of fitness clubs and gyms can be found on the street such as Lifeline Wellness with separate swimming pools. A whole cluster of salons is located around the residential buildings, for both men and women, including Coral Beauty Lounge, Headline Gents Salon, ES Salon, Star Chic Beauty Center, etc.
There aren’t any community events particularly hosted around here as most of the street is used for commercial spaces. The Qasr Al Hosn Festival is held every year at the fort featuring live music and dance performances to pay tribute to the traditional Arabic culture. People from around the communities visit the festival to take part in the celebrations and view special performances.
Electra Street is a relatively affordable area and a haven for the expat community due to a large number of apartments for rent. But if you’re more drawn towards private villas, it might not be the location for you. It is close to many villa communities such as Al Khalidiya and Al Mushrif.
