Dubai Waterfront was expected to become the largest man-made development in the world. It is more commonly referred to as just the Waterfront. The project’s developer is Dubai Waterfront Company which is a subsidiary of Nakheel Properties.

The original plan was to create a large development featuring commercial, residential, leisure and hospitality spaces. This large project would have been constructed in the shape of a crescent moon with Palm Jebel Ali forming a star, this configuration is commonly seen as an Islamic symbol.

Dubai Waterfront is expected to be a bustling community for business, residents and tourists alike. Right next to Dubai Waterfront, one can find the development site for Palm Jebel Ali. Dubai Waterfront provides direct access to the Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) highway. The area is close to Dubai South, Dubai World Central and Al Maktoum International Airport.

People of different religions and faiths can easily follow their beliefs, as places for worship for almost every religion are located nearby. There are many popular mosques near Dubai Waterfront. Popular mosques in the area include Emirates Station Mosque, Jebel Ali Mosque 1 and New East Accommodation Mosque. These options are within a 15-minute drive.

Churches can be found in the Al Muntazah area of Jebel Ali, roughly 20 minutes away. Here you will find the United Christian Church of Dubai, St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and many more. The Sikh gurudwara, Guru Nanak Darbar is also located in Al Muntazah. The large facility can hold up to 50,000 worshippers at any given time.

Residents can visit the Hindu temples in the Bur Dubai area: Shiva Temple, Shree Krishna Haveli and ShrinathJi Temple. This journey will take a minimum of 35 minutes.

Families with young children will find that there are many schools near Dubai Waterfront, mainly in the Dubai Investments Park (DIP) community. Popular options include Dovecote Green Primary School which follows the British curriculum and Greenfield Community School which offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Other options include Al Nibras International Private School, follows the American module of education, The International School of Choueifat, SABIS (UK/US) curriculum and British Columbia Canadian School, Canadian syllabus.

University options can be found in Knowledge Park, 25 minutes away. It houses many universities, institutes and educational centres.

There are a few hospitals near Dubai Waterfront; NMC Royal Hospital in DIP and Cedars Jebel Ali International Hospital located alongside the E11 highway. Both of these options are 22 minutes away.

Other clinics near Dubai Waterfront include Aster Clinic, Access Clinic, Dr Ismail Polyclinic and Al Meena Clinic.

There are many commercial districts close to Dubai Waterfront: Jebel Ali Freezone, Downtown Jebel Ali and Dubai South area . The Al Maktoum International Airport is also 20 minutes away.

Even though the area is still developing there are a few entertainment venues nearby. The Outlet Village, Dubai Parks and Resorts and JA Shooting Club are the three most popular leisure attractions in the vicinity.

There are plenty of popular malls near Dubai Waterfront. The Outlet Village is popular for its outlet stores of leading luxury brands. The mall also houses high-street retail stores and restaurants. It is a resident favourite since it is just 15 minutes away from Dubai Waterfront.

Other popular malls in the area are Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Marina Mall and Mall of the Emirates. These malls are roughly 25 – 35 minutes away.

There are many restaurants near Dubai Waterfront, in the New West Camp neighbourhood. Residents can visit Al Badiyah Restaurant, Manoushe Street and Zabeel Restaurant.

Licensed venues in the area include Seafarers Bar and Kitchen in Jebel Ali and Shooters which is located in the JA Shooting Club.

Although the sea surrounds the community, you can still visit some of the best beaches near Dubai Waterfront. The Beach at JBR, Jumeirah Beach and Marina Beach are at a distance of 25 – 35 minutes.

Dubai Waterfront residents enjoy the best of waterside living. Apart from appreciating the scenic views, occupants can make the most of the multiple entertainment activities that exist in the city and neighbourhood. To the north of the Badrah and Veneto communities is the JA Shooting Club. The resort offers indoor and outdoor shooting areas, as well as archery and paintball.

Dubai Parks and Resorts is a collection of theme parks: Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai and Legoland Water Park. All these theme parks have many rides and games for adults and kids alike. The park also has a Lapita Hotel and Riverland Dubai – a street of themed food and beverage outlets.

Otherwise, many people visit another Nakheel development: Palm Jumeirah. The luxurious destination is known for its private beaches, five-star hotels, resorts and spas. Another fun option is the Yellow Boats. You can go sightseeing on a cruise around the stunning Palm Jumeirah and the awe-inspiring Dubai Marina skyline. Palm Jumeirah is the best bet for people who enjoy fine dining, a serene sunset at the beach and shopping from renowned brands.

Movie enthusiasts can also visit Roxy cinema at JBR and VOX cinemas at the Mall of Emirates to watch the latest hits. Dubai Marina is also at a short distance from the Waterfront and offers numerous fun leisure activities. Residents can take a stroll down Dubai Marina Walk or head down to Dubai Marina Yacht Club to charter a yacht.

Residents living in Dubai Waterfront usually head to the beaches for numerous entertainment activities in a family-friendly environment. Some of those activities include jet skiing, speedboat, paragliding and snorkelling. People enjoy the stunning sunset with incredible views of the Burj Al Arab from Jumeirah Beach.

And not just the beach, residents can visit the nearby gyms to keep fit. The nearest gym is Fitness First in Green Community, DIP. Atlas Power Gym and Hybrid Gym are other fitness centres in DIP.

The nearest salons will be in the Discovery Gardens area, popular options include Nikki’s Beauty Salon, Magic Touch Beauty Salon and Atlantic Gents Salon.

As the community is still developing there aren’t many events for the residents. Those living in the area can join a few Facebook groups: Al Badrah – Dubai Waterfront Community and Veneto Residence Dubai Jebel Ali Waterfront.

Currently, the area faces limited connectivity to public transport and is still under development and may be expanded in the future. This is something to keep in mind before renting or investing in Dubai Waterfront.
