Public Transportation Near Basswood

Basswood is a well-connected area, with Dubai – Al Ain Road (E66) linking to the east and Emirates Road, (E611) linking from the north.

Public Transportation in Basswood comes in the form of nearby bus stops and metro stations.  The closest bus stop is the Dubai Virtual Reference Station and Rawdah Poultry Farm bus stop, both at a distance of 15-minutes. The closest metro station is First Abu Dhabi Bank Metro Station, which requires a 30-minute drive time to reach. One will either have to take an RTA bus or a taxi to reach these metro stations.

SUPERMARKETS NEAR BASSWOOD

The community is located at a distance from the main city, so there aren’t many options for shopping and entertainment. Within a short drive of the parent community, there is an Akoya community centre that acts as the primary shopping destination for locals. Carrefour, a well-known chain of hypermarkets, has a branch there. The French supermarket is well known for carrying a variety of goods, such as food, clothing, electronics, and home care. Additional well-known supermarkets near DAMAC Hills 2 (Akoya Oxygen) are Spinneys, Zoom, Geant Express, and Choithrams.

MOSQUES NEAR BASSWOOD

DAMAC Hills 2 Mosque is a community mosque located at merely a 5-minute drive. Other mosques near Basswood include Remraam mosque which is a small community mosque in Remraam. There is also Town Square Mosque and Al Adel Mosque at a driving distance of about half an hour. Both these mosques are considered large and can accommodate several hundred worshippers within their individual capacity during Friday prayers.

For the Sikh community, a gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar, the city’s only gurudwara, is located in Jebel Ali Village. To serve the Hindu residents of the area, a recently opened Grand Hindu Temple has been built in Jebel Ali.

The master project, DAMAC Hills 2 (Akoya Oxygen), has plans for community schools and nurseries in the area. Shining Stars Nursery Dubai is currently open for preschoolers. For primary and secondary schools, consider the following schools near Amargo:

Ranches Primary School is known for its hands-on approach to teaching pupils by identifying individual strengths and weaknesses. It is important to consider that this neighbourhood is still under construction. Residents who move here will need a vehicle to avail basic amenities such as groceries and shopping in general. Nevertheless, once the community is fully developed, one will be able to access nearly all the amenities just a few blocks from their doorstep. Apart from this, they will enjoy one of the cleanest and greenest living environments in Dubai.
