Al Tayy, Sharjah

Al Tayy is a small, residential area located in Sharjah which is also known as Al Tai. This suburban community lies at the centre of the emirate, surrounded by many local facilities. It enjoys a prime location at the intersection of two major roads, Emirates Road (E611) and Sharjah Kalba Road (E102). Al Tayy is divided into three sub-communities named Nasma Residences, Basateen Al Tayy, and Wahat Al Tayy.

Located amidst the cultural and commercial hubs of the Emirates, the Al Tayy community is presently under development. Asas Real Estate, a real estate department of Sharjah Islamic Bank, is working on a land of 14 million sq. ft. for a residential project that is largely centred on villas and townhouses. The area is owned by United Investments Group (UIG).

St.Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Sharjah, Sharjah Worship Centre, Coptic Church, St.Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Soonoro Patriarchal Cathedral, Union Church and many more churches are concentrated in one place in Al Yarmook to facilitate Christ believers in the area.

Parents with young ones can find a lot of nursery options in the neighbourhood. One of the top nurseries in Sharjah, British Orchard Nursery in Al Tayy follows the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

The closest option for older children of the community is Sharjah Indian School and GEMS Our Own English High School. Other schools nearby include Al Asma Elementary Girls School, Sharjah International Private School, Al Rowayda School and Emirates American School.  There is also Sharjah Indian School, with separate branches for both girls and boys. The school follows the Indian curriculum and is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi, India.

The closest option for higher education is the American University of Sharjah, available at an 18-minute drive. Other universities include the University of Dental Hospital Sharjah, Skyline University College, University of Sharjah and others located in Muwaileh District.

Residents of Al Tayy don’t need to drive too far to get medical aid, as many clinics are available in the region. AI Tayy lies at the intersection of the two major highways of Sharjah: Emirates Road (E611) and Dubai-Ajman Road (E102), which offers easy access to all over Sharjah as well as to Ajman and Dubai. The community also has a close-knitted residential neighbourhood that includes established areas like Al Khawaneej community, Al Suyoh, Al Gharayen and Al Noaf.

To enjoy a day at the beach, residents will have to travel for a 20 to 25-minute drive from the area as beaches are located at a minimum of 33km distance. One can visit the Al Mamzar area to enjoy plenty of water sports and fun-filled activities. The most fun things to do at Al Mamzar Beach include snorkelling and jet-skiing. Several events take place in the emirate of Sharjah, one of the biggest is Expo Centre Sharjah, which has recently shifted its location to Al Taawun Street, connecting it directly to Al Tayy via Emirates Road (E611). One of the biggest Sharjah International Book Fairs will be taking place at this new venue.

Moreover, the exhibition centre also boasts six more halls that surround the boulevard of indoor and outdoor space, which will feature more exhibitions and events in the community.

There is a 4 million sq. ft. exhibition and conference centre currently under construction in the Al Tayy district of Sharjah. This new Al Tai Exhibition Centre is strategically located at the crossroad of Emirates Road (E611) and Maliha Street (S116), which is a 30-40 minute drive from Sharjah International Airport.

Villas and apartments in Al Tayy are surrounded by green landscapes and offer high-end amenities. However, facilities like malls and fine-dining restaurants are not available in the community for residents will have to visit the nearby areas.
