Al Ramla West

Al Ramla is a residential area located in the central part of Sharjah. It is one of the seven districts of Halwan Suburb. It is divided into two sub-communities, Al Ramla East and Al Ramla West, based on their location within the neighbourhood.

Al Ramla West is a sub-community of Al Ramla. It is an urban area with spacious and beautiful villas. It is located close to schools, hospitals, supermarkets and restaurants.

If you are coming from Dubai, the nearest Dubai Metro station to Al Ramla West Sharjah would be the Union Metro Station. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to reach Al Ramla West in Sharjah. The journey would take around 30-40 minutes depending on the traffic.

Residents of Al Ramla West do not have to go far for grocery shopping as there are a couple of supermarkets near Al Ramla West. Yuaan Supermarket is located in the heart of the community. Also, Noor Al Ramlah Supermarket is situated near Cultural Square. Al Kenouz Supermarket is within a drive of a few minutes. Status Supermarket in Halwan Suburb, Al Yarmook is at a 5-minute drive away.

Sharjah Cooperative Society – Al Fayha is the closest hypermarket located at a 4-minute drive by car.

Al Imam Al Bukhari Mosque is the mosque located inside the community. Other mosques nearby are Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Mosque, Tuwa Mosque, Malik Ibn Anas Mosque, Thabet Ibn Qays Mosque and Sa’ad Ibn Mu’ad Mosque. These mosques can be reached within 10-minute drive by car.

While there are no churches in the sub-community. Residents can take a short 6-minute drive to Al Yarmook, where there are multiple churches. Some of the popular churches in Sharjah are Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Orthodox Parish, St. Michael’s Church Sharjah, St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Grace Evangelical Church, St. Mary’s Church and Russian Orthodox Church.

Hindu residents can go over to temples in Bur Dubai, roughly 25 minutes away. These include Shiva Temple, Shree Krishna Haveli, ShrinathJi Temple and Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir.

For the Sikh community, the Sikh Gurudwara and Sindhi Gurdarbar in Bur Dubai, and Gurudwara Al Aweer in the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area are 29 minutes away from the sub-community.

There is a number of schools in Al Ramla West, as well as in nearby communities that offer quality education to children.

Al Amana Private School is a co-educational institute follows the UK curriculum and offers classes from FS1 to Year 11.

All of these options are very close for residents of Al Ramla West, and have a good standard of education. Ferdous Quran Center is one of the best institutions for the teaching of Quran and Sunnah. The Al Wafa School caters to children with mental deficiencies and learning disabilities. Other notable schools include Sharjah Private School, Emirates Private School and Al Maarifa International Private School.

For higher education, the Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies in Abu Shagara and the Lincoln University of Business and Management on King Faisal Street are 8 and 10 minutes away, respectively. A 17-minute drive takes the residents to the University City of Sharjah, where there are some reputed institutions, such as the University of Sharjah, offering degrees and courses in all major fields.

There are a lot of activities to indulge in, such as dhow cruises, mini-golf, mini-train ride, and many more. There are a number of lakeside restaurants for people to enjoy good food. There is also an amphitheatre, where many cultural performances are held, especially on significant days.

Residents of Al Ramla West can also make the 14-minute drive to Al Noor Island, and spend a few hours of serenity and comfort there. On the island, there are beautiful works of art and literature, as well as nature on display for people who come there to have a good time. There is a Butterfly House, spectacular sculptures, a Literature Pavilion and many other spots for people to sit, relax and have a wonderful time.

People living in Al Ramla West are never far away from anything, especially outdoor activities. There are multiple options for people who love the outdoors. Residents can hop aboard a Dhow and explore the serene Sharjah waters, by driving over to the Khalid Lake Trail, at a distance of only 11 minutes.

They can also head over to Afi Park or Al Fayha Park to take a stroll and jog for a while. Both these parks are in the vicinity. The Al Fayha Park also has a football playground where people come and play together. The Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club is only 11 minutes away in Samnan and has a number of facilities, such as the gym and various sports.

The Mask Spa Center is only 5 minutes and has a range of services other than spa such as massage, scrubbing, Moroccan bath, waxing and threading. Residents of Al Ramla West celebrate special occasions such as Eid and other religious events together. Apart from this, there are many wonderful and festive events that happen nearby throughout the year. One such event is the Sharjah Heritage Days, which goes on for 2 weeks and coincides with UNESCO’s World Heritage Day on 18th April every year. This event is held in the Heart of Sharjah, which is at a 12 minute drive from Al Ramla West.

The location of Al Ramla West, coupled with the quality of its housing and facilities, make it an ideal location to invest or live in. However, having your own car is very important, as it will save your time in commute since public transportation has not yet been extended to the community.
