Al Qurm is a small mixed development in Abu Dhabi close to landmarks such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al Bateen Executive Airport and Khalifa Park. It is close to communities such as Ministries Complex, Al Zahraa, Embassies District and Zayed Sports City.

In terms of road connectivity, the Abu Dhabi – Al Shahama Road highway and Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street stretches along the northern border of the area. These two routes play a vital role in connecting the community to other areas in Abu Dhabi. Therefore, professionals working in nearby localities can consider living in Al Qurm.

Al Qurm is a close-knit community and consists of local and expat residents. Therefore, one can expect a socially active environment where you meet people from different backgrounds. From the villa communities, residents have quick access to communal gardens, shops and other facilities.

The area has risen to be a preferred locality for expat families offering large and affordable private detached villas. The community boasts many family-friendly amenities.

The community is dominated by villas with spacious floor plans spanning between 3,700 sq. ft. and 4,500 sq. ft. Although it is a small community, its infrastructure is well-planned. The residential and commercial blocks, both have dedicated parking areas. While there’s no specially constructed space, there’s paid street parking for visitors. There is a bus station in Al Qurm Gardens. Other bus stops are located in proximity to Al Dhabi Tower and one in Al Maqtaa Village. It is recommended that you use a private taxi or car to avoid hassle as there’s only one bus link at the moment.

There are two grand supermarkets in Al Qurm; Carrefour Market in the Al Seef Village Mall and the Swiss Mart Supermarket in Al Maqtaa Village. Both are easily accessed within two to five minutes. Both offer grocery items ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables to frozen food and basic utilities. Swiss Mart Supermarkt also offers home delivery and laundry service.

There are many community mosques near Al Qurm located at short intervals. A few options include Sultan Bin Rashid Al Dhaheri Mosque, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Mosque and Ali Salem al-Kaabi Mosque. The magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is 10 minutes away, at a distance of 8.6 km. It is the largest mosque in the UAE and is frequented by the nearby community members. The mosque is also crowded during Islamic festivals and public holidays.

The lack of churches in Al Qurm can be easily made up by the ones in Al Mushrif community, 15 minutes away. A few options include St. George’s Orthodox Cathedral, St. Joseph’s Cathedral and St Andrew’s Church.

Hindu residents will have to travel to Dubai to visit the Shiva and Krishna temples. These are located in the Bur Dubai area alongside a few other temples. Sikh worshippers can find the New Gurudwara Abu Dhabi in Mussafah, roughly 17 minutes away.

Younger children can study at Little Rose Nursery, MindChamps Nursery and Loving Nursery. These options are under 10 minutes away.

Some international schools near Al Qurm include Brighton College, which offers the British curriculum and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia Private School which follows the Bangladeshi curriculum. Both of these options are 5 minutes away.

Other schools near Al Qurm include Emirates Private School, American International School in Abu Dhabi and Lycée Louis Massignon, which is a French school.

Institutes for specialised education also lie in proximity such as the National Defense College of the United Arab Emirates (NDC), Rabdan Academy and the Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM).

Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital, Healthpoint and Zayed Military Hospital near Airport Road are the closest hospitals near Al Qurm.

Euphoria Medical Center, British Neurology Psychiatry Center and Beautiful Mind and Medical Centre are located only 7 minutes away. Dental options near Al Qurm Gardens include Masters Dental and Aesthetic Center and Al Cady Dental and Aesthetic Centre. Al Ain Pharmacy is located in Al Seef Village Mall.

The community is strategically located near Al Bateen Airport and is surrounded by Abu Dhabi’s popular residential districts. Zayed Sports City, Ministries Complex and Al Zahraa are quite close to Al Qurm. Slightly further away are the communities of Al Zafranah, Al Mushrif and Al Gurm.

Al Seef Village Mall is a complete shopping mall near Al Qurm Gardens. It consists of a Carrefour Market for grocery items, a few cafes, some local eateries along with multiple retail outlets. Al Seef Village Mall also has an outdoor area called The Market which is located behind the mall. It features an Art Gallery and a handful of salons, cafes and restaurants.

Out of the several souks in Abu Dhabi, Souk at Qaryat Al Beri is the closest one from Al Qurm. It is a waterfront shopping destination featuring several Arab fashion outlets and designer brands along with fine dining spaces.

There’s a whole cluster of restaurants near Al Qurm, each with its own unique menu. Al Seef Village Mall and its outdoor The Market have many such offerings. Popular Arabian options incude Zaytinya and Sumaq. Fast food options consist of CaliBurger, McDonald’s, Subway, Papa Murphy’s Pizza and Doner & Gyros. Those looking for a quick snack can head to Gina Cafe, La Brioche, Tim Hortons and Japanese bakery Yamanote Atelier.

The nearest fine-dining restaurants are located in the Eastern Mangroves area. Pachaylen in the Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel is a well-known Thai restaurant. Peppermill is preferred for Indian cuisine, while meat lovers visit BOA Steakhouse. These three restaurants are 10 minutes away from Al Qurm.

Al Bateen Beach is located to the south of the area, 16 minutes away. This is a family-friendly beach, popular with visitors of all ages. You can enjoy water sports, family picnics and fishing activities here. Kayaks and jet skis can also be rented, at an additional cost.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a key landmark for all of Abu Dhabi and it is located only 9 minutes away from Al Qurm. Around 40,000 people gather in the largest mosque of the United Arab Emirates every year to offer Eid Prayers.

Moreover, Zayed Sports City is also a major highlight of this area that has many facilities for sports fans and professional athletes. There are many activities on offer in Zayed Sports City, you can try your hand at ice-skating, basketball, football, paintball, tennis, golf, rugby and more.

Those who like greenery can consider moving to Al Qurm since there are plenty of public parks with playgrounds around the community. These developments have walking tracks, jogging tracks and pathways built for riding bikes. The Sports City Garden is a famous spot for families to sit back and relax and enjoy a couple of matches and tournaments from the terraces. Furthermore, Khalifa Park is also a nice place for picnicking. It has a small maritime museum for visitors to explore as well.

Those who want to hit the gym will find plenty of choices nearby such as Fitness First in Al Seef Village Mall and Sweat gym in Al Seef Resorts & Spa by Andalus, which also houses a relaxing spa.

There’s a cluster of spas and salons in Al Qurm such as Cosi Bella Ladies Salon, Curls and Colours Ladies Salon.

It may get a little tricky to travel in Al Qurm if you prefer public transport as there is only one bus that passes nearby. However, the problem is partially solved with the availability of taxis and online cab services.
