Al Mirfa, Abu Dhabi

Al Mirfa, also known as Al Marfa, is a coastal community located in Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi. The residential district is connected to the mainland through Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road which is running along with the community. It features villas in different configurations and a range of communal facilities such as parks, hospital and education institutes.

Al Mirfa is a waterfront community once known for pearl divers and fishermen. The isolated village of the western region features a quiet ambience, however, the availability of government offices and services makes the community lively. Al Mirfa Port, Mirfa International Power & Water Company (MIPCO) and Al Mirfa Court are a few of them.

Apart from official spaces, the coastal town in Al Gharbia is home to residential properties as well. The exceptional range of family-friendly amenities attracts prospective residents interested in renting or buying villas. Mosques in Al Mirfa are dotted around the area to facilitate Muslim community members. Hathboor Muhammad Hathboor Al Rumaithi Mosque, Al Muhajireen Mosque and Al Masoud Mosque are a few of them.

Those who follow Christianity will have to drive for around an hour or so to visit churches in Abu Dhabi. These include St. Joseph’s Cathedral and St. Andrew’s Church.

The popular residential areas of the western region are located close to Al Mirfa. Towards the west lie Al Ruwais and Ghayathi while Dalma is located on the northern side. There are a few islands located in the north of the residential district such as Marawah Island and Jananah Island. Madinat Zayed and Al Dhafrah 1 are other nearby areas.

Ruwais Mall is the nearest shopping facility for residents of Al Mirfa. It has several retail outlets, dining options and recreational facilities or visitors. The popular stores in the mall are Sun & Sand Sports, Tim Hortons, Athlete’s co, Babyshop and much more. It also has an outlet of Lulu Hypermarket to cater to grocery needs. Residents can reach the shopping mall in an hour drive. Other malls nearby include Al Dhafra Mall, Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre and Khalidiyah Mall.

Most of the restaurants in Al Mirfa are located alongside Al Shaheed Ahmed Khamis Al Hammadi Street. The popular ones are Al Raheef Restaurant, Opal Restaurant, Tasty Chef Restaurant LLC, Thuni Al Rumaithi Restaurant and Sheikh Mandi Al Mazabi. The community also has several cafes including Two 11 Café, June Café and Ocean Café serving snacks, desserts and a range of items in breakfast. Other dining options in the area are Al Marfa Coast Restaurant, Stylish Burger Restaurant and Shawarma Al Sham Cafeteria.

The residential community is home to Al Mirfa Beach, one of the popular beaches in Abu Dhabi. Al Mirfa Beach hosts Al Dhafra Water Festival every year for 10 days from 20 to 29 April. The festival features sports competitions, food stations and the traditional market for those interested in shopping. Visitors can indulge themselves in windsurfing, kite-flying, camping activities and beach concerts at the festival.

Al Mirfa is an ideal residential community for those individuals working in or around the community. The tranquil and remote area of Abu Dhabi might not be suitable for those relying on public transportation or enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city. However, the community is under development and will feature numerous amenities and leisure spots once it is completed.
