Al Maqtaa, Umm Al Quwain

Located along the King Faisal Road, Al Maqtaa is a small residential community in the northern emirate of Umm Al Quwain. The area consists of low-rise buildings that offer 1 and 2-bedroom apartments and a few villas. Presently, these affordable properties are only available for rent. The community enjoys easy access to numerous amenities including retail stores, schools and eateries.

Residents can spot the National Bank of Umm Al Quwain and Sheikh Zayed Mosque within a 5-minute walking distance from the district. It takes a 15-minute drive to reach Ajman and a 25-minute drive to get to Sharjah.

Properties in Al Maqtaa Umm Al Quwain include apartments and villas. The apartments in low-rise buildings are available in 1 and 2-bedroom configurations.

Visitors can easily find plenty of parking spaces, a food court and children’s play area in the Mall of UAQ. Other local stores in the area are Hafil, Al Diya Supermarket and Al Hidayah Supermarket.

Muslim residents can find several mosques in Al Maqtaa. Sheikh Zayed Mosque is just a 2-minute drive away. The mosque has plenty of parking spaces to facilitate visitors. Other mosques such as Masjid Ahmed Ali Taweel, Masjid Al Rahmah and Zahra Mosque are a 6-minute drive away.

There is only one church in Umm Al Quwain – Our Lady of Arabian Church. It is a 3-minute drive away from Al Maqtaa. The Church Center is also located near the district.

Residents can seek timely medical attention from a number of clinics in Al Maqtaa. KRIPA Medical Centre is less than a minute’s drive. One can get to Al Hayat Medical Centre in just 6 minutes. For dental care, one can visit Dr Asish Dental Center and UAQ Medical Center; both clinics are a 4-minute drive away.

As for hospitals near Al Maqtaa, Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital is an 11-minute drive away from the area.

King Faisal Road is situated in proximity to Al Maqtaa. Towards the southern end, one can spot the Industrial Area of Umm Al Quwain. Al Ramlah community is another neighbouring district.

The most popular mall in Al Maqtaa is the Mall of UAQ. It is nestled in the city centre and offers wonderful retail, dining and entertainment experience to visitors. One can gather here with friends and family to watch movies at the cinema. LuLu Hypermarket in the mall stocks grocery items, fashion and accessories, beauty and home goods.

Apart from the Mall of UAQ, there are local shops in the vicinity. Agroplus Traders FZC, Sassy Decor and Al Redwan Animal Husbandry & Food Industry Est. are a 5-minute drive away.

Residents can head to the Mall of UAQ to find Shakespeare and Co. Other restaurants in Al Maqtaa are Al Syed Restaurant, Al Baikh Restaurant and Cafeteria, New Cordoba Restaurant and La Maison Cafe. All these restaurants serve Middle Eastern and Pakistani cuisine.

Talking about popular beaches near Al Maqtaa, residents can visit the community’s own Umm Al Quwain Public Beach; it is a 10-minute drive away from the district. Since it is quite a beach with a lesser crowd, one can enjoy swimming or have a small picnic.

Mangrove Beach is another popular destination among beach lovers. It is a 7-minute drive away from Al Maqtaa. Nature lovers can enjoy seeing many kinds of beautiful birds on the seashore.

There are a number of leisure activities within the community. Dreamland Aqua Park is one of the largest water parks in the UAE with over 30 thrilling rides. There is also an overnight camping facility in the park and visitors can enjoy different sports activities like tennis, basketball and volleyball.

HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Park is the nearest park from Al Maqtaa. The amusement park has fun-filled rides for kids. Other parks in the neighbourhood such as Al Hamriyah East Community Park and Al Salma Park are a 12-minute drive away from the region.

There are plenty of gyms in Al Maqtaa for fitness enthusiasts. Kodokan Martial Arts and Fitness, Miami Gym and Red Belt Club Umm Al Quwain are within a 5-minute walking distance.

Al Maqtaa offers affordable properties that enjoy easy access to urban amenities. However, one has to own a car before moving to the area as there limited options for public transportation.

Al Maqtaa is located near the Industrial Area in Umm Al Quwain. One can spot the community along King Faisal Street.
