Al Hudaiba

Al Hudaiba is a small community with several hotels, malls, consulates and places of interest. What makes this community stand out is its proximity to Drydocks World, in the vicinity of Al Mina. The area mainly offers affordable rental apartments, therefore, it is quite popular among young expats. Here, residents have all the basic lifestyle facilities from education to healthcare and recreational options right in proximity.

We can say, the neighbourhood has a prime location in the city close to Al Jafiliya and Jumeirah 1. To its immediate west, you will find the community of Pearl Jumeirah and Al Mina. To its north are the many communities of Bur Dubai, such as Al Raffa, Al Mankhool and Al Karama.

The neighbourhood might be one of the less popular residential areas in Dubai but its geographical importance sets it apart from the rest. Al Hudaiba is centrally located, set in proximity to a few major landmarks and commercial hubs in city. Also, being close to the waterfront and direct accessibility to Dubai Maritime City via Sheikh Rashid Road (D75) are a few more pluses for frequent commuters to these areas.

One can find a few hotels in Al Hudaiba. Ramada by Wyndam Jumeirah is a 5-star hotel on Mina Road and around 2.9 km from Jumeirah Public Beach. Jumeirah Rotana and Chelsea Plaza are also close-by. When it comes to finding parking spaces in Al Hudaiba, If you are residing in one of the many apartment buildings, chances are that you’ll be provided with a dedicated covered parking space. However, if that is not the case, then you may have to park in one of the paid spots on the street.

For those wondering about public transportation in Al Hudaiba, it is important to know that this community does not have a metro station situated within its borders. The closest metro station is Max Fashion which is 2 km or 6 minutes away via car.

There are many bus stops dotted around the community borders. Bus F12 is a feeder bus that connects commuters directly to Max Fashion Metro Station. Bus C14, C01, C10, 28, 93 and 15 can be used to reach other parts of the city. Moreover, Bus X13 route also includes the many stations in Al Hudaiba, Dubai.

Despite being a smaller community in Dubai, there are several supermarkets in Al Hudaiba where one can shop for daily essentials. Some of these include Talal Supermarket, Choithrams and Baqer Mohebi Supermarket. Talal Supermarket is popular for its weekend deals on fresh produce and meat, Choithrams is an anchor store in Ghazal Mall and Baqer Mohebi Supermarket is a larger supermarket, equally popular for its fresh vegetables and meats.

Whereas, those who prefer Carrefour Supermarkets in Dubai can find a 24-hour open outlet in Hana Center near Chelsea Plaza. It is a great option for those who want the complete departmental store shopping experience. Other options in the neighbourhood include Almaya Supermarket, Your Choice Supermarket and West Zone Supermarket.

Those belonging to the church-going communities will come to find that nearly all churches are situated in the community of Oud Metha, roughly 10 minutes away. There are 12 churches located close to each other. Notable options you can visit include St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral and Holy Trinity Church.

Secondly, Hindu residents can visit Shiva Temple, Shree Krishna Haveli and ShrinathJi Temple located in the neighbouring area, Bur Dubai only short 5-minute drive away from Al Hudaiba. Besides many temples in Bur Dubai, there is the Sikh Gurudwara and the Sindhi Gurdarbar for the Sikh community.

There are two big mosques in Al Hudaiba. The Mosque of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab is located near the Consulate General of Sri Lanka while the other mosque is behind Carrefour Market. Also, the iconic Jumeirah Mosque is about 4-minutes away if you can drive. It is one of the most beautiful mosques in Dubai. Besides its beautiful ambiance, stunning architecture and huge accommodation capacity, it is one of the few options offering mosque tours in the UAE to non-Muslims as well. Therefore, the place of worship is a landmark attraction for tourists too.

The community is home to Dubai Early Chidhood Development Centre (DECDC), an early intervention program for children with special needs and their families. The institute looks after all areas of development and education of these students within the premises and conducts trainings and awareness campaigns. DECDC is located in Al Hudaibah Awards Building, Block C.

Also nearby is the Special Needs Future Development Center, a school for children with special needs. However, out of all these schools, Ambassador School seems to be most popular for its focus on quality education. This school has been awarded as a top performer in math, biology, computer studies and commercial activities.

Further, there is a decent selection of schools in Al Hudaiba. Residents have the option of choosing between two nurseries: Dubai Gem Private Nursery and New Dubai Nursery. Another notable option close by includes Ambassador Kindergarten.

Other schools near Al Hudaiba include New Academy School in Al Raffa offering the American curriculum and Ambassador School in Al Mankhool which follows the Indian curriculum.

Al Falah University and The American College of Dubai are located in the vicinity of Al Garhoud for those looking for higher education options.

There are around 6 to 7 medical clinics in Al Hudaiba, the most popular of them all is GlobeHealth General Clinic. This clinic offers a variety of medical care treatments including those related to gynaecology, dentistry and general health check-ups. Other popular options include Dr. Ali Jafar Clinic (Surgical)-DUBAI, Najmat Al Shatea Polyclinic and Real Smile Dental Clinic.

Those wondering whether there are any reputable hospitals in Al Hudaiba will be pleased to find that the closest hospital is Belhoul European Hospital. It is located on the first floor of Dune Center Building, towards the south of Al Hudaiba. This private hospital is equipped with the latest medical facilities and technology. On the northern end of the community, there is the International Modern Hospital. A large tertiary care hospital with modern facilities and specialized treatments.

Just west of Al Hudaiba, one will find the community of Al Mina, where Drydocks World is situated. It is located adjacent to Port Rashid and offers marine and offshore maintenance services.

To its immediate east, there is the community of Al Jafiliya which is home to a few consulate offices and a metro station. To its north, there are the sub-communities of Al Mankhool and Al Raffa in Bur Dubai. Down south you will find Jumeirah 1 and Al Badaa, both are peaceful villa communities with many amenities. In all, Al Hudaiba is surrounded by well-established communities within Dubai.

Although there are no malls in Al Hudaiba, the closest shopping mall is Al Ghazal Mall which is located on 2nd of December Street on the corner of Al Hudaiba and Al Badaa. This is a medium-sized mall near Al Hudaiba home to a few retail stores. There are also some cafés and restaurants you can visit. This is a great mall to visit for those who don’t want to travel far. Those looking to shop for a few essentials under one roof can go to Al Hanaa Center in Al Hudaiba.

If you drive a little further south you can choose from the many community malls in Jumeirah. There is Palm Strip Mall, Jumeira Plaza, Mercato Mall, Town Centre Jumeirah and more.

Dubai Mall is also a short 11-minute drive away. Apart from the vast shopping and dining establishments, it is considered to have some of the most exciting entertainment venues. Some great options of entertainment and fun near Dubai Mall include watching the Dubai Fountain show or taking your children to KidZania, a small city where they can explore and let their imaginations run wild.

You can also go all the way up to the top of Burj Khalifa or be mesmerized by the different species of wildlife at the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. Another exciting thing you won’t find at other malls is the chance to fly a simulator of the Airbus A380.

If you simply want to relax and watch a movie with your friends or significant other, you can opt to watch the latest blockbusters playing at Reel Cinemas in Dubai Mall. Finally, if you are brave enough, you can try visiting the mall’s haunted house which is called Hysteria.

There’s a huge selection of restaurants in Al Hudaiba. There are roughly 17 restaurants within the immediate neighbourhood. Food from across the globe can be savoured here. Favourites include Chin Chin serving Asian cuisine, the Indian restaurant Truck Adda, GAGA Burger for American food and the Lebanese restaurant Al Mallah which is also one of the best shawarma places in Dubai. One can also find some of Dubai’s top Korean restaurants within the vicinity such as Manna Land.

There are many buffet restaurants such as Lal Qila, Grand Barbecue, Bar B. Q. Tonight and more near the Al Hudaiba Awards Building. Undeniably, Grand Barbecue is one of the best Indian restaurants in Dubai serving a variety of North Indian cuisine.

The nightlife and the overall standard of living in Al Hudaiba is anything but boring which means that you’ll find plenty to do and experience on the weekend. For one, residents can visit The Docks, a Scottish pub which is located in the Ramada by Wyndham Jumeirah Hotel in Al Hudaiba. One great thing about this pub is that it has a happy hour and a casual environment with outdoor seating. Other popular licensed venues are located in the Capitol Hotel such as the night club Xanadu, a pub called Olympic Sports Club and the Czar Club. Shisha Lounge in Al Hudaiba Awards Building, Block C is among the best shisha in Dubai.

There are a few beaches near Al Hudaiba. The closest one is Jumeirah Public Beach. It is one of Dubai’s oldest beach spots and is quite popular with residents and tourists alike. The beach also has a walkway that is great for a morning or midnight stroll and has several food stalls as well. The beach also has a few upscale restaurants and cafes where beachgoers could enjoy a cup of hot coffee after a long day at the beach. Since this is a public beach, you will find dedicated lifeguards on duty so you and your family members can feel safe while swimming.

Another option is the private beach part of Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai near Al Mina. The Beach Club at Nikki Beach is a popular destination, especially on the weekends. It does require paid admission.

Al Hudaiba Awards Building is a defining landmark for the area. It consists of three large mixed-use buildings which house commercial shops, offices and retail spaces. There is a statue of a sinking ship in the water fountain right outside the building which is a popular location for evening strolls.

Al Hudaiba is close to many cultural landmarks. Union House is located right outside the community. It is the location where the unification documents for the United Arab Emirates were signed. It is part of the Etihad Museum which features many other traditional items and cultural displays. In addition to this, the museum features a library, an educational centre and an events venue.

Although there aren’t any golf courses within the community’s borders, the Dubai Creek and Golf Club is just 15 minutes away via car. It has three different golf courses, the Par 3 course is a 9-hole golf course aimed at beginners or those looking to improve their short game. The Championship Course is a large 18-hole, par 71 courses, loved by professionals. Those looking for a fun day out can try their hand at the #minigolfdubai Course which is perfect for players of all ages and expertise.

Although there are no community parks in Al Hudaiba, a 5-minute drive will take you to the parks in the nearby community of Al Mankhool. This park is called Al Mankhool Park and is worth visiting as one will find several shaded areas and benches where park visitors could sit and watch their children play.

The massive Zabeel Park is also nearby, within a 7-minute drive. It features many different entertainment amenities and other facilities so there’s a lot of things to do in Zabeel Park for kids and adults alike.

Al Bawasel Gym, V.I.P. Gym and First Choice Body Fitness Club are popular gyms in the Al Hudaiba area.

Moreover, some salons in Al Hudaiba include Station 10 Beauty Salon, Beauty Lady Salon and Bodyline Ladies Spa and Salon for women. Men can visit Salsa Gents Center, Solitaire Gents Salon & Spa and Casanova Gents Salon.

Overall it’s a small community, but surrounding it are communities such as Al Satwa, Al Jaffiliya and Al Mina. While living here, one doesn’t necessarily need to own a car as the public transportation in the area is accessible and metro stations are located in the nearby communities. Villas in Al Hudaiba are difficult to find and might not be an ideal location for those with large families.
