Al Bahia is a residential area on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. Also identified as New Bahia or Lower Bahia, this low-profile community is near Al Shahama. This coastal area with mangrove plantations along the coastal strip features spacious apartments and villas. It is a 10-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport, conveniently located along the Abu Dhabi, Al Shahama Road. The neighbourhood provides easy access to the Emirates as Al Shahama and Al Rahba are nearby residential areas next to the E10, E11, and E12 highways.

Al Bahia is located near several key landmarks in Abu Dhabi, including Al Raha a well-developed residential community. The lively neighbourhood is adjacent to Al Raha Beach, a well-known Abu Dhabi coastal area, which is close to the Gulf. This peaceful location has a small lake, that attracts both residents and visitors. With many bus stops nearby, a bus leaves almost every couple of hours. Taxis might be hard to find and using private vehicles to get around is preferred.

For bulk grocery shopping, residents can visit popular supermarkets within Al Bahia such as Baqala Sama AlBahiya, Baqala Nafia, Al Bahiya Flower Baqala and Ain Al Madeena Supermarket.

There are many community mosques in Al Bahia. The closest mosque is Al Bahia Mosque, followed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Mosque and Al-Masjid Abu Huraira. You can also visit the popular ADNOC Mosque in Al Rahba.

Churches close to the area include the Church of South India—CSI Parish Abu Dhabi (Malayalam) and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Abu Dhabi, near Al Bahia, which is a 15-minute drive from Al Bahia. The Hindu temple BAPS Hindu Mandir, Abu Dhabi is 15 minutes from Al Bahia. Other than that, residents can visit the Hindu temples in Bur Dubai.

There are many schools in Al Bahia following different curriculums. Aspen Heights British School is the most popular school in the area, following the British curriculum. Amity International School offers quality education with vast options for extra-curricular activities.

Other popular schools located nearby include Al Shahama School, Al Basma British School and Al Reef Girls School for Basic Education. All these schools are located at an approximately 15-minute drive from Al Bahia. For higher education options, Khawarizmi International College is located in Al Bahia near Deerfield Mall. It is one of the top universities in Abu Dhabi and offers bachelor and associate degrees in Business administration, Hotel Management and other courses.

The healthcare needs of residents are taken care of as there are many clinics and hospitals in Al Bahia. The closest and one of the best government hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Al Rahba Hospital is approximately 10 minutes away from Al Bahia.

As it is close to the coastal areas of Abu Dhabi, there are luxurious beaches near Al Bahia. One of the best beaches in Abu Dhabi is Yas Beach is the closest public beach to Al Bahia.
