Located near the Ajman-Sharjah border, Al Azra is a residential community in the emirate of Sharjah. The community is positioned away from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, being close to the periphery of the city does not disconnect it from the fast-paced areas of the emirate. For household essentials, there are a few supermarkets near Al Azra. Located in the neighbouring community of Al Ghafia; Al Doha Supermarket and Rashma Supermarket are 5 minutes from the community. There are several smaller grocery stores dotted around the area as well for daily necessities.

The closest hypermarket is Lulu Hypermarket in Al Hazannah, roughly 10 minutes away from Al Azra.

No residential community in Sharjah is complete without a mosque. Likewise, there are a few mosques in Al Azra such as Abdulrahman Ibn Abi Bakr Mosque, Utba Ibn Abu Sufyan Mosque, Sofyan Ibn Oyaynah Mosque and others.

Churchgoers would not have to travel far either as there is a cluster of churches near Al Azra, located 10 to 12 minutes away in Al Yarmook. Residents can visit St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Russian Orthodox Church, St. Martin Anglican Church and numerous others.

Hindu and Sikh residents will have to travel to the Bur Dubai area in Dubai. Here they will find the Shiva Temple, Shree Krishna Haveli and ShrinathJi Temple. The Sikh Gurudwara and the Sindhi Gurdarbar are also located here. These religious places of worship lie at a 35 to 40-minute distance from the residents of Al Azra.

Al Azra is home to a few of the best schools in Sharjah, which is an enticing benefit for parents moving to the area. Based on the British curriculum, Victoria English School is one of the schools in Al Azra, hosting both expatriates and local children. The school is multi-cultural in nature, offering Arabic language classes for all students and Islamic studies for Muslim pupils. The educational centre is run in accordance with the terms set by the UAE’s Ministry of Education (MOE).

American curriculum schools in the area are Al Resalah International School of Science, Al Itqan American School and Dawha School. Taryam American Private School is one of the best schools in Sharjah.

Indian curriculum schools in Al Azra include Future Leaders Private School, which is also one of the top Indian Schools in Sharjah. Other notable schools that offer Indian curriculum include The Indian Academy Sharjah and New Indian Model School.

In addition to these; Al Khaleej International Private School, The Modern American International School, Springdale Indian School, School of Knowledge and a few others are situated within Al Azra.

The closest universities to Al Azra are City University College of Ajman, Preston University and Cromwell UK International College, all of which are located 10 to 14 minutes away. Apart from these, the educational hub: University City Sharjah can be reached within 16 to 20 minutes.

There are several clinics which the residents have easy access to. Offering medical specialities, The Garden Dermatology Clinic, National Center of Modern Medicine, Dallas Medical Center and Al Sarraf Medical Clinic are 5 to 10 minutes from Al Azra.

Residents can find numerous hospitals near Al Azra. Providing premium healthcare to its patients, Kuwait Hospital is an 8-minute drive away from the community. The hospital has a wide range of services. Adhering to excellent standards, the hospital boasts state-of-the-art medical equipment. Apart from this, Al Qassimi Hospital and Burjeel Hospital Sharjah can also be conveniently reached within a matter of 10 minutes.

Al Azra shares its border with Al Ghafia, Al Jazzat, Al Falaj and Al Ramtha. The community is also close to Ajman which can be conveniently reached via Al Ittihad Street.

There are several malls near Al Azra. Located a mere 6 minutes away, Al Shaab Village is a vibrant shopping mall with unique offerings for the nearby residents. The shopping centre features over 250 stores, including trendy brands, international chains and other regional stores. Not only this, but the centre is also anchored with an ice-skating rink, a food court, indoor games area, an outdoor amusement park and a cinema.

The shopping destination of Matajer Al Quoz is an 8-minute drive from Al Azra. The community shopping centre has 17 stores including a few pharmacies, beauty stores, jewellery stores, gadget shops and a Carrefour Hypermarket. The mall also has a few dining options as well, for shoppers to savour delicious items after a shopping spree.

There are a few restaurants in Al Azra. However, residents can find a wider range of options in nearby areas. There are a few quaint eateries in the community serving traditional menus such as Al Aseel Public Kitchen and Shams Al Aseel Cafeteria. Popular among residents, Caesars Restaurant is located in Al Shaab Village Mall, offering different pastry items.

Many people also head to Al Muntazah Street for dining in a warm and welcoming environment. Serving authentic Lebanese cuisine, Arjwan is much-visited by the food lovers. Apart from this, Asian restaurant Marasea, European eatery Al Qubtan and dessert shop Waffee Street are also quite famous.

When looking for a family beach holiday or a tranquil getaway, Sharjah Beach is a popular choice. Located at a 12-minute drive away, it is one of the beaches near Al Azra. Sharjah Beach is perfect to relax in peace while enjoying the crystal clear ocean waves. Although the beach is a peaceful retreat as it is, there are plans to build a seafront promenade and to add more parking spaces at the beach in the near future.

Located five to 10 minutes from the community, Al Ramtha Park attracts numerous people every day. The park is a great spot for family picnics and has a few rides for children. Many people from nearby areas come to the park for a quick retreat after a tiring day.

Al Azra is about 7 minutes from Cultural Square, also known as Book Roundabout. Established by Sharjah Municipality and designed by a European sculptor Carlos Marinas Rubias, this landmark exhibits a 15-meter high sculpture of an open book which is perceived to be the Holy Quran.

Around the roundabout are key locations of Sharjah, such as Sharjah Public Library, the Cultural Palace and the office of the Ruler of Sharjah. Built with traditional Islamic architecture, Cultural Palace is the epitome of intricate artistry. The stunning landmark hosts a number of events every now and then.

Having vast green spaces, the community park named Al Azra Park is located right at the centre of Al Azra. As it is centrally located many residents visit the park to spend quality time with family and friends.

Women residing in Al Azra have convenient access to gyms such as Al Hayat Ladies Fitness and the National Centre for Ladies Fitness, which can be reached within a few minutes. Fitness enthusiasts can go to Al Adhalat Gym and Wanderers Club, located 10 to 12 minutes away.

There are currently no community events in Al Azra. However, residents can find a number of options in the nearby areas. Located 7 minutes away, Cultural Palace hosts multiple events and music shows scheduled throughout the year. Al Ramtha Park is also known to organise family-friendly community events which residents can participate in to promote community spirit.

Al Azra is a safe residential community. The area offers a modern lifestyle with the provision of stunning villas. It is also home to various schools and other facilities.
