Abu Krayyah, also spelt as Bu Kirayyah, is a residential district in Al Ain located on the western side of the emirate. It is a small village with a rich agricultural area, farms and desert. It is situated next to Nimah Road, while Um Zumoul Road lies in proximity to the community.

COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

Abu Krayyah is a family-friendly residential area that offers a wide range of amenities and facilities. Although it is located far away from the central city, the well-connected road network provides ease for commuting to neighbouring areas. The residential district has several farms and a wastewater treatment plant to facilitate residents.

The upcoming projects in the neighbourhood include parks, shelterbelts around the village and transport infrastructure as per Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

PROPERTIES IN ABU KRAYYAH

Properties in Abu Krayyah include villas mostly available in unique layouts. These villas are located on the eastern side of the community. Most of the residences have an expansive living area, kitchen and bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The parking facility and open spaces are other features of these units.

TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING SPACES IN ABU KRAYYAH

Nimah Road (E40), which runs alongside the community, connects it to Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Road (E22) and Al Rawdah Road (E30). Following the route, residents can reach Abu Dhabi in a one and half hour drive. The central city of Al Ain is also accessible in the same time frame via Um Zumoul Road (E95).

Al Matar Baqala in Abu Krayyah is the only grocery store where residents can buy daily essentials. Other supermarkets near the community are located at a half an hour drive away. These include Al Madina Supermarket and Nibras Al Madina Grocery.

CHURCHES, TEMPLES AND MOSQUES NEAR ABU KRAYYAH

Muslim community fellows can offer their daily prayers in mosques near Abu Krayyah. Salem Ameri Mosque, Masjid Mubarak Hameed Al Shamsi and Masjid Mohammad Bin Mubarak Al Amry are a few.

Christians can visit Al Ain Pentecostal Fellowship, Al Ain Evangelical Church and St Mary’s Catholic Church located in the Al Mutawa community.

SCHOOLS IN ABU KRAYYAH

Parents with school-going children can find two schools in Abu Krayyah; Al Borooj Primary and Secondary School and Abu Krayyah Primary and Secondary School. These educational institutes are located at the southern end of the community. Other reputable schools such as United Private School and Al Naeem School are situated a bit from the district but easily accessible through Um Zumoul Road.

Al Jimi Medical Polyclinics near Abu Krayyah is a dental clinic offering treatment for a root canal, orthodontics and other dental problems. It is located at a half an hour drive in the Al Wigan area. Other facilities near the community include Universal Hospital and Mediclinic Al Yahar.

NEARBY AREAS

Abu Krayyah shares a border with Industrial City Al Ain from the eastern side, while towards the north lie the Al Rawdah community. Although the neighbourhood is located a bit far from the popular residential areas of the emirate, residents can reach there in a short drive. Al Yahar and Al Salamat are a few of them. Other nearby areas include Abu Samrah and Al Khaznah.

MALLS NEAR ABU KRAYYAH

Residents can drive to the neighbouring areas to visit some of the best shopping malls in Al Ain. Barari Outlet Mall is one of them. It has around 70 shops of world-famous retail brands, a food court and recreational facilities. The mall’s popular stores are Nafla Perfumes, Skechers, Rivoli, Navaras Jewellery and Sun & Sand Sports. The shopping mall also has an indoor play area for children, a cinema and a bowling centre for adults and an outlet of Lulu Hypermarket. It is located in the Al Dhahir area near Zayed Bin Sultan Street. Other shopping malls near the community are Souk Extra and Markhaniya Mall.

RESTAURANTS NEAR ABU KRAYYAH

There are plenty of restaurants near Abu Krayyah that offer Arabic, Indian, Chinese and other cuisines. These include Al Baker Restaurant, Gazebo Restaurant, Al Rekab Restaurant and 101 Café & Restaurant. Residents can also dine at some of the best restaurants in Al Ain, such as Coriander Restaurant, The Coffee Club and Al Fanar Restaurant & Café. All these dining options are easily accessible through Nimah Road and Um Zumoul Road.

BEACHES NEAR ABU KRAYYAH

Since the residential district is situated on the eastern side of the emirate, it will take around a 1 or 2-hour drive to visit the coastline. Yas Beach and Al Raha Beach are popular picnic spots for families.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES AND NOTABLE LANDMARKS

People living in Abu Krayyah have limited leisure spots within the community. However, they aren’t detached from the central city as residents can still visit some of the notable landmarks of the emirate in a short drive. The popular ones include:

Alanka Fort was constructed by Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoon, the head of state of Abu Dhabi, in 1848. The fort served as a residence of the ruling family of that time and was restored in the 1980s. The fort’s walls are built with mud bricks, while palm trunks were used for ceilings and gypsum for details. A two-storey tower stands in the middle of the fort as well. Alanka Fort is situated in Rimah and freely accessible for tourists.

Arabian Nights Village is one of the top desert resorts in Abu Dhabi, where intrepid travellers can experience the Emirati lifestyle. It has rooms with the comforts of the modern age along with the rich history of Abu Dhabi. Guests can also enjoy the traditional Emirati meals, morning desert safari, sand boarding, thrilling rides on quad bikes and camel trekking. The resort is situated in the Mshayrif area near Arabian Nights Village Road.

Other leisure spots near the neighbourhood are Seih Al Hama Camel Race Track and Zakher Lake.

To promote a healthy lifestyle among residents, there is a community park and a football stadium in the neighbourhood. Other parks nearby are Abu Samrah Park and Al Wagan Family Park.

UPCOMING PROJECTS

As per Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, Abu Krayyah will be provided with a regional bus route, cycling trails and walking tracks. A new interchange on the E95 is also proposed in the plan to serve the town.
