- Your LinkedIn Profile
- Using LinkedIn To Generate Real Estate Leads
- Creating Content On Trending Topics
In addition to networking and recruitment, LinkedIn can be an excellent tool for real estate lead generation. According to data from Hubspot, LinkedIn is 277% more effective than Facebook and Twitter for generating leads.
With consistency and a clear objective, you can establish yourself as an industry expert on LinkedIn. Furthermore, you can also highlight your brand and expand your sphere of influence on this networking platform.
Let’s explore how you can use LinkedIn to generate real estate leads.
Have A Profile That Reflects Your Personal Brand
Your LinkedIn profile has one goal – to show people what you do.
As the online equivalent of a resume, make sure the information on your LinkedIn profile is updated.
Use a professional headshot as your profile picture, and outline your real estate experience and your areas of specialisation. Add all your previous work experience, including real estate and non-real estate roles.
Here’s an example of a well-crafted LinkedIn profile:
Add Connections
Networking is an important part of lead generation. Online networking is a great way to promote your expertise, showcase your career and find potential opportunities. To increase your chances of being invited to networking and industry events, add your real estate peers on LinkedIn.
To expand your network on LinkedIn, we would recommend connecting with agents from other real estate agencies, previous and existing clients, sales account managers, real estate bloggers, real estate trainers, etc.
A good practice is to send a personal message with your request to connect on LinkedIn. After they’ve accepted your connection request, send them a message introducing yourself but do not use this message to sell property.
Join Groups
Another effective way to connect with people in the real estate industry is by joining LinkedIn groups. Groups can help you become a thought leader and go-to resource for nearby buyers and sellers.
There are multiple UAE based real estate forums on LinkedIn, with property owners, mortgage specialists, property insurance providers, etc.
Get the latest tips for Real Estate Success
In these LinkedIn groups, members voice their opinions, share their concerns and seek advice on real estate related topics. Join these discussions and share your knowledge of the industry.
Use LinkedIn: Beyond Likes
Success on LinkedIn depends on how you contribute to your connections. Apart from liking and sharing content, here are some tips to build relationships and showcase your expertise on LinkedIn:
- Post content to educate your real estate clients about the industry. Create content about last sold transaction data, how to leverage a mortgage to increase ROI on a property, how to purchase property, etc
- Ensure the content you like and share matches your personal brand. Engage with reliable sources and real estate related posts
- Share information about UAE real estate market’s trends. You can find this data using Transaction Insights on Profolio™.
- Ask for others’ opinions in order to get people to interact with your posts
- Share (or create) posts on upcoming developments and their amenities.
- Share your opinion on others’ posts, “I am a real estate professional and I have a professional opinion to share“.
- Congratulate people on their work anniversaries, promotions, change of careers, birthdays, etc
- Add a call to action (or CTA) at the end of every post, asking the reader to take action after reading your post. This can be, asking them to contact you or visiting your website (Check out my blog, contact me, reach out to me, etc.
Create Content About Trending Topics
You have a higher chance of people seeing and engaging with your posts if you post about trending topics and use relevant hashtags.
LinkedIn News Trends shows you what’s trending and being shared. Pick a topic and write about what you know: real estate. Take a look at this LinkedIn News Feed. While nothing looks real estate-related at first, you could easily tie these topics to real estate and craft a timely and relevant post for your audience.
For example, the highlighted article, Digitalising MENA economies discusses the growth of GDP within the region and a surge in job opportunities. Because this discusses economies, it is a great opportunity to create a post on the benefits of investing in UAE real estate in 2022.
Other creative content ideas for LinkedIn:
- Consider producing and sharing a video that showcases a neighbourhood’s ‘hidden gems’
- 30-second video to introduce yourself and your business
- Interesting facts about Dubai real estate, for example on Dubai’s most expensive villa being sold for AED 200M, or on District 2020, an upcoming neighbourhood in Dubai
- New listings in great places. For example, Caribbean inspired lagoons by Damac Lagoons.
To summarise, we would recommend spending 20 minutes every day on LinkedIn to generate real estate leads to:
- Connect with former and existing clients, friends and colleagues
- Share, like and engage with relevant content
- Join groups
- Offer congratulations to someone celebrating a professional milestone or success
- Write a post on a trending topic
- Include a CTA with every post
LinkedIn gives you all of the tools you’ll need to be successful in expanding your audience, establishing your authority and brand, and networking strategically.
